1.1 SCOPE
THIS SPECIFICATION DESCRIBES THE PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF AUP-X-400-V4 USPS (UNINTERRUPTED SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY) PRODUCT, WHICH IS A 400WATT, 7 OUTPUTS SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY IN EPS12V FORM FACTOR WITH BATTERY BACKUP FUNCTION. THE AUP-X-400-V4 IS BASED ON ATX / PS/2 FORM FACTOR DESIGNED TO MEET THE MOST OF INTEL AND AMD COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS.

5.7 Remote ON/OFF Control
The power supply outputs shall be enabled with an active-low TTL signal.
When TTL signal is low, the DC outputs are to be enabled.

6. Protections
6.1 Over Voltage Protection
When the DC outputs (+5V, +12V1,+12V2, +3.3V) have over voltage condition, the power supply shall
provide latch mode over voltage protection.

6.2 Short Circuit Protection
A short circuit placed to ground shall cause no damage or power supply shall be shutdown. (The contact
resistance is 0.05 ohm when the outputs short circuit.)
6.3 Protection Reset
When the power supply latches into shutdown condition due to a fault on an+5V,+3.3V,+12V1,+12V2
output(OCP, OVP, UVP), the protection shall reset after the fault has been removed, use remote on/off
control or recycle the AC power again for a typical of 5 seconds.

6.4 Over Shoot
Any output overshoot at turn on shall be less than 15% of the nominal output value (with resistive load)
as described in sec. 5.1.
6.5 Over Power Protection
At 115/230Vac input the power supply will shut down all DC output within 110% to 150% of full load.

10 Using the UPS Monitoring Program That Comes With Windows XP
( For Window 7, please use RUPS 2000 V4.2 version )
10.1 WITH THE COMPUTER AND THE USPS OFF, CONNECT THE SERIAL PORT CONNECTION CABLE BETWEEN USPS
MAIN BODY DB9 PORT AND AN OPEN RS-232 SERIAL PORT ON THE COMPUTER.
10.2 TURN THE USPS ON AND START THE COMPUTER.
10.3 ONCE THE COMPUTER HAS STARTED, CLICK ON START, THEN CONTROL PANEL.

10.15 INUTES ON BATTERY BEFORE CRITICAL ALARM - THIS DETERMINES HOW LONG THE UPS WILL RUN
BEFORE THE OPERATING SYSTEM STARTS TO SHUT DOWN. IF LEFT BLANK, THE UNIT WILL RUN UNTIL THERE IS
APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES OF BACKUP TIME REMAINING, THEN THE OPERATING SYSTEM WILL START TO SHUT
DOWN.
10.16 EXT, INSTRUCT THE COMPUTER TO: - LEAVE AS "SHUT DOWN".
10.17 INALLY, TURN OFF THE UPS. - IF CHECKED, THIS WILL ALLOW THE UPS TO BE TURNED OFF
AUTOMATICALLY ONCE THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS SHUT DOWN.
