The design guidelines offer detailed, region-specific, recommended design solutions for the bicycle and pedestrian facility types presented in this Plan. In addition, the guidelines offer design recommendations for bicycle and pedes-trian intersection and ancillary improvements. These will help to further improve safety for bicyclists and pedestrians in the region and legitimize bicycling and walking as viable forms of transportation.
