AWANA Registra>on

6:45 PM Youth Worship

Dear Church Family,

As I write this to you, I’m on a business trip, and it’s 7:15 PM. I’m just

now ending my day at the office here in Sauk Rapids, MN and looking

forward to the having four factory mee>ngs tomorrow, the first of

which will start at 6 AM.

I’m sure that I’m not much different than many of you. Planning to-

morrows ac>vi>es, preparing for tasks ahead or trips in the future,

pulling together things for ac>vi>es or projects, dealing with family

issues or health issues life has a way of filling up. Some>mes it just

feels so good to get by yourself, close the door, and just scream be-

cause of all the demands, frustra>ons, or anxie>es. Not that I would

ever do that (I hope you read that with the sarcasm intended).

However, God wants a life that is be4er for us. He wants us to trust

him through anxiety and through the hec>c pace of life. Whether we

are impa>ent for something to happen or overly anxious about what

might happen, we should remember that the Lord is Lord of all. I’m

reminded that we should ask God to give us His peace and have faith

in him to provide. Jeremiah 29:11-13 (ESV) states, “For I know the

plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare, and not for

evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and

come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find

me, when you seek me with all your heart.”

Just knowing that God has a plan for us as FBCCL gives me hope for

our future together. I’m praying that FBCCL will soon have a godly

man to lead us as senior pastor. I’m praying for the Pastor Search

Commi4ee to have the Spirit’s discernment as they work the process

needed to perform the due diligence tasks needed to find that one

person God has already ordained for His purpose. I’m praying for the

deacons as they work to assist the ministerial staff in the administra-

>on of the church. I’m praying that as we march forward together

that we keep pace, don’t slow down, and con>nue to grow as a

healthy church should.

I’m also encouraged as I see bap>sms, summer missions ac>vi>es, and

soon to be - new paint in the children’s wing and bible study class-

rooms for improved focus on our children’s ministry. I’m also encour-

aged by our building commi4ee’s work to develop a first phase plan in

alignment with our Vision and Strategy Team’s recommenda>ons. I’m

FBCCL Missions Emphasis…

Pray for our team as they are in Colorado looking for missions

partnership opportuni>es.

Music Notes…. Christmas Choir rehearsals begin at 7:00 PM August 28. This is the

19th year of our community choir. If you know of someone who en-

joys singing and would like to par>cipate, please let them know

about the rehearsals. It’s a great opportunity for people of faith to

come together with a common goal to proclaim the message of

Christ. If you are a member of FBC and not currently involved in the

music ministry, this is a great >me to join. We look forward to serv-

ing together in ministry.

encouraged by our members who have stepped up to fill ministry

needs such as Sunday evening bible study and small group studies.

I’m encouraged to see us con>nue to help our community through

the schools via opportuni>es like the backpack ministry. All this and

more gives me great hope for our future and is a strong indica>on of

God’s presence and His guidance.

So will you join me in praying for our church, for volunteers to fill the

needs? Will you join me in finding a place to serve? Will you join me

in simply falling into God’s hands and finding His peace through life’s

hec>c pace – all the while knowing that He has plan for us?

Yours in Christ,

Ray Wehmeyer

Deacon Chairman FBCCL
