Now in its 128th year … The Saskatoon EX is Saskatchewan’s largest summer festival with 6 days of non-stop entertainment. This annual event excites people of all ages featuring a variety of performers from headliners on the grandstand, to the hypnotist, racing pigs, Cirque acrobats, lumberjacks, a one-man-band, Doo Doo the Clown and children’s entertainment featuring Dora and My Little Pony with the Equestria Girls plus much more! Don’t forget to get your presale Superpass before August 5th for big savings on admission and a full day of rides.

The Saskatoon EX Parade kicks off The EX on Tuesday, August 5th at 10 am in downtown Saskatoon. Back by popular demand is the Mardi Gras Parade held daily at 6 pm on the park, and a spectacular fireworks finale at 11 pm nightly.

This year’s line up on the Sasktel Grandstand Stage is outstanding with something for everyone from country to rock to pop to the ever popular demolition derby and the Saskatoon EX Strongman Challenge. And it doesn’t get any better with free admission to all grandstand entertainment included in your EX general admission.

North American Midway Entertainment (N.A.M.E.) is back for the ride enthusiasts with a full line up of thrill rides including the ever-popular “MACH 3”. A total of 47 midway rides will be featured in the two midway areas including an expanded Safeway Kidsville for the thrills and chills of the little ones.

A visit to the EX is not complete without taste testing the many one-of-a-kind food items from one of the many new food booths. Remember a visit to The EX would not be complete without a signature Spudnut.

The Saskatoon EX has a longstanding tradition of involving the community through a variety of competitions including the 2nd Annual Rise To Fame Talent Search and the ever popular Saskatchewan Art Showcase.

The EX is your opportunity to make memories that will last a life time. For a full schedule of events please visit our website at...

SPORTS ON TAP:Every summer gets more and more exciting for us at Sports On Tap. We are hopeful that our Grey Cup Champions continue to have a riveting and competitive year in the CFL. It’s always fun to see and hear the crowd go wild during the games. The FIFA world cup is currently under way and we are getting many new faces streaming through the doors to cheer on their favorite team. As per usual, we are praying for nice weather for our Beach Volleyball teams. We once again filled up our league in record time. We are also going to be introducing a couple of Beach Dodgeball tournaments this year which is a fun and unique change. We hope you get the chance to stop by this summer for an ice cold beverage and tasty treats.

AG NEWS...Jonathan Field ClinicWorld renowned clinician and horse trainer returned for the 5th year in a row to provide an educational experience to horse enthusiasts. Jonathan provided two clinics each of the three days and his clinics have waiting lists every year. We are most fortunate to have him make Saskatchewan one of his annual stops in his clinic circuit.World Professional Chuckwagon RacesThe second annual stop for the WPCA Races in Saskatchewan was June 5 to 8. We were blessed with better weather this year than last, and managed to get four full days of races in with just a bit of rain. The only WPCA stop in Saskatchewan proved to be most popular with great crowds each day. Negotiations are underway for their return next year.Saskatchewan Cutting Horse Show – May 31 - June 1Just under 100 horses from the prairie provinces participated in this successful annual regional show. A large crowd was present on Saturday evening to watch the Bridle-less Cutting as well as the Celebrity Cutting.Western Canadian Arabian Breeders Horse Show – June 20 – 22The Arabian horse industry was very well represented with approximately 200 horses from all the prairie provinces.Junior Ag Showcase – July 3 to 7Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation’s commitment to the youth of rural Saskatchewan is undisputed in its presentation of the Junior Ag Showcase program. This event hosts competitions for Light Horse, Beef, Sheep, Dairy and “Showcase of Arts” for 4-H members and additional youth. Although competition in the show ring is an exciting component, strong emphasis is placed on educational opportunities, development of leadership, and social skills. For the second year we are excited to host the 2014 ‘Farm Safety Program’ where participants (parents & leaders as well as youth) progress through safety stations demonstrating positive safety practices on and off the farm.

The program will conclude with the 4-H Steer Sale on Monday, July 7 where Saskatoon region businesses show their support for 4-H by purchasing the steers.
