From the President’s Desk
It's back to school time so as a reminder, please continue to drive responsibly within our community. Our posted speed is 20 mph and please remember to come to a complete stop where stop signs are present. Children will be walking and riding bicycles to and from school soon.
Our front and rear entrance refurbishment project is coming along very nicely. Our landscape company soon will be putting the finishing touches on installing landscaping in front of our new front wall signs. Our new rear community entrance signs are ready to be installed. Our vendor is waiting on Martin County permits before work can begin.
Thank you all for doing your part in helping make this community the best place to live.

Little Free Library Helps Make Islesworth Special By Mark & Diane Tomasik
Islesworth became part of a special worldwide community of sharing and learning when a Little Free Library was placed in the playground area this year.
The Little Free Library is a "take a book, replace a book" exchange and functions on an honor system. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share.
Todd Bol of Hudson, Wisconsin, started the Little Free Library concept in 2009 as a "spiritual gesture" to his late mother, a schoolteacher. Bol built a model of a one-room schoolhouse, filled it with books and put it on a post in his front yard.
He watched with amazement as neighbors and friends made repeated visits to his library, found books to enjoy and share, and restocked the box with books.
"I realized there was some kind of magic about it," Bol said in an interview with the Washington Post.
Bol and a friend, Rick Brooks of the University of Wisconsin, set a goal of following in the foot-steps of philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, who at the turn of the 20th century set a goal to fund the creation of 2,508 free libraries across the world.
Bol and Brooks, promoting and developing the Little Free Library concept and forming a non-profit group, achieved the goal in two years.
In 2019, there are more than 90,000 registered Little Free Library book-sharing boxes in 91 countries.
"I really believe in a Little Free Library on every block and a book in every hand," Bol said. "I believe people can fix their neighborhoods, fix their communities, develop systems of sharing, learn from each other, and see that they have a better place on this planet to live."
Bol, 62, died on Oct. 16, 2018, of complications from pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife and two children -- and by the legacy of literacy, learning and sharing he inspired.
Islesworth is a good community made even better by having a Little Free Library.
Ours was made possible by resident Elizabeth Chu, who designed and built the structure for her Girl Scout Silver Award Project, and the support of Islesworth's HOA. Elizabeth, Cadette Girl Scout, earned her Silver Award on July 9th.
Visit littlefreelibrary.org to see a map of all the LFL locations. You can search for the Islesworth library using Charter #85925.
