Sumitra Harit,</p><p>Chairperson, DLW Womens Welfare Organisation as well as Shri</p><p>Ashok Kumar Singh, Chief Mechanical Engineer &amp;</p><p>President/Sports, Shri Anil Kumar Sharma, Chief Quality</p><p>Assurance Manager &amp; General Secy./Sports.</p><p>It is mentionable here that the Health Club located behind DLW Cinema Hall is well</p><p>equipped with modern and latest facilities for meditation, yoga, and physical exercises as</p><p>meditation hall with peaceful ambiance, rolling machine,</p><p>treadmill, cross trainer, elliptical, spinner bike, butter fly,</p><p>vertical press/end let, functional trainer, inner and outer thigh,</p><p>leg curls/leg extension, bicep curls/tricep extension, ab crunch</p><p>back extension machine, etc.</p><p>On this occasion Smt. Anuradha Singh, Vice-</p><p>Chairperson, DLW Womens Welfare Organisation as well as members along with S/Shri A.K.Goel,</p><p>COS, Yogesh Asthana, CEE, Arjun Tabiyar, CPO, J.N.Pandey, FA&amp;CAO, S.K.Jain, CMM/HQ,</p><p>R.B.Yadav, CE, A.K.Singh, CDE, P.Ananth, CME/M, S.K.Sagar, CPM/Mod., Sanjay Katiyar,</p><p>CME/Plant, N.S.Pangtey, FA&amp;CAO/TOT, Manish Kumar Gupta, DGM, Md.Shahid, Sports Officer,</p><p>other officers, Staff Council members and employees were present in a large number. </p></li><li><p>Communal Harmony Day at DLW</p><p>Communal Harmony Day was observed on 21st August at DLW. On this occasion, Shri Ashok</p><p>Kumar Harit, General Manager administered the</p><p>Communal Harmony pledge to the officers and</p><p>employees. S/Shri A.K.Singh, CME, A.K.Goel, COS,</p><p>Yogesh Asthana, CEE, Anil Kumar Sharma, CQAM, Arjun</p><p>Tabiyar, CPO, K.B.Sahay, CME/P, V.R.Mishra, CMM/Eng.,</p><p>N.S.Pangtey, FA&amp;CAO/TOT, R.B.Yadav, CE as well as</p><p>other officers and employees took the pledge in a large</p><p>number to maintain communal harmony and peaceful co-</p><p>existence in the society without any distinction of caste, creed, area, religion and language. Shri</p><p>Pravin Kumar, Dy.CPO conducted the programme.</p><p>In this connection, officers and employees in</p><p>different Shops at Workshop area, Stores/Depot and</p><p>other Offices inside the Workshop, Hospital and work</p><p>places of Colony area as well as Teachers and Students of</p><p>DLW Inter College, Central School, St. Johns School and</p><p>Bal Niketan also took communal harmony pledge.</p></li><li><p>Special Discussion Meeting of Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti at DLW</p><p>Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti (NRKS) held a special discussion meeting on 18th</p><p>August at Hall of Fame. Speaking on this occasion, chief guest Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Secy.-</p><p>Rajbhasha, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India said that since time immemorial Varanasi city</p><p>has been a centre of attraction for its glorious history of Hindi literature. Expressing satisfaction</p><p>over the progress review report of NRKS, he said Hindi is a</p><p>very easy language. He appealed the member offices to</p><p>popularize the same and apprised above the recent software</p><p>that can help to resolve the problem coming in computer-</p><p>generated works.</p><p>Presiding over the meeting Shri Ashok Kumar Harit, General Manager &amp; President, Nagar</p><p>Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti, Varanasi focussed upon the activities NRKS and said that in the</p><p>last meeting, member offices were awarded with the Shields and Certificates by the Samiti for their</p><p>commendable performances in the field of Rajbhasha. Shri Harit also apprised about the</p><p>achievements of DLW in Rajbhasha and said that recently Premchand Hindi Library at DLW has</p><p>been computerised. Probably, this is the very first library, which is equipped with e-granthalaya</p><p>software and having barcode. Despite this DLW is organizing various programmes and bringing out</p><p>magazine to make the Rajbhasha practically dynamic. Shri Harit also assured of cent-percent</p><p>compliance of the implementation of Rajbhasha Adhiniyam by all member offices. </p><p>Earlier, welcoming Shri Srivastava, Secy.-Rajbhasha, Ministry of Home Affairs as well as</p><p>representatives of member offices, Shri Arjun Tabiyar, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari and CPO threw</p><p>lights upon the contribution of Varanasi in the progress of Hindi literature. While, Dr. Sanjay Kumar</p><p>Singh, Varistha Rajbhahsa Adhikari and Member Secy,/NRKS focussed upon the activities of NRKS</p><p>through presentation. </p><p>On this occasion, Dr. Markandey Ram Pathak, Registrar,</p><p>Banaras Hindu University, Shri Santosh Shukla, ADRM, NER, Dr.</p><p>Bijendra Singh, Director, Vegetable Research Project Office,</p><p>Varanasi, Dr. Devraj Singh, Registrar, Central Tibetan Institute,</p><p>Shri Ram Prakash Maurya, Dy. Commissioner of Income Tax,</p><p>Income Tax Office, Shri R.K.Verma, Joint General Manager,</p><p>Indian Airport Office, Shri R.P.Ram, Dy. General Manager, District Telecom Office, Shri R.B.Patel,</p><p>Dy. Director, All India Radio, Shri Rohit Kumar, Zonal Manager, Food Corporation of India, and Shri</p><p>Sudhanshu Shekher, Sr. District Manager, Life Insurance Corporation of India also expressed their</p><p>views and put-up the progress report of Hindi of their departments.</p><p>On this occasion, Shri Kumar Pal Sharma, Dy. Director in Charge (Implementation),</p><p>Northern Region, Rajbhasha as well as representatives of various central govt. departments and</p></li><li><p>autonomous organizations were presence in a large number. The programme concluded with the</p><p>vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Varistha Rajbhasha Adhikari and Member</p><p>Secy./NRKS.</p><p>69th Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August, 2015 at DLW Stadium with the</p><p>presentation of colourful cultural programmes by the children of DLW based schools. The</p><p>programme started with the hoisting of National Flag, followed by</p><p>the inspection of parade of Railway Protection Force, St. Johns</p><p>Ambulance Brigade, Civil Defence, Bharat Scouts, Guide, Cubs,</p><p>Bulbuls and Inter College Scouts &amp; Guides by General Manager</p><p>Shri A.K.Harit. On this occasion, focussing upon the contribution</p><p>and sacrifices of freedom fighters for the freedom of the country</p><p>Shri Harit highlighted the production and other activities of DLW</p><p>including achievements of all the departments of DLW.</p><p>On this occasion, chief guest Shri Harit honoured the</p><p>President Certificate recipient cadets of Scouts &amp; Guides by</p><p>handing over them President</p><p>Certificates as well as he gave away the prizes to the meritorious</p><p>students of DLW Inter College, who received maximum marks in</p><p>Inter, High School and Primary examinations. Shri Harit also</p><p>distributed useful equipments to the handicapped employees and</p><p>handicapped dependents of DLW employees. </p><p>The programme concluded with the distribution of fruit packets to the indoor patients of</p><p>DLW Central Hospital by Shri Harit along with Smt. Sumitra Harit, Chairperson, DLW Women's</p><p>Welfare Organisation, members and principal officers. On this</p><p>occasion chief guest Shri Harit also inspected the training center</p><p>of Bharat Scouts &amp; Guides at Community Hall premises. The</p><p>programme wound up with the plantation of saplings at Surya</p><p>Sarovar by General Manager Shri Harit as well as Smt. Sumitra</p><p>Harit, Chairperson, DLW Women's Welfare Organisation &amp;</p><p>members, HODs, officers Staff Council Members and employees. </p><p>JULY-2015</p><p>Independence Day Celebration at DLW</p></li><li><p>6th Jagran Film Festival held at DLW</p><p>Under the co-operation of DLW Cinema Club, 6th Jagran Film Festival was organised by</p><p>Dainik Jagran group from 24th to 26th July at Auditorium (Cinema Hall). The Film Festival started on</p><p>24th July with the premiere show of film MASAAN, produced by renowned film producer Shri</p><p>Anurag Kashyap and directed by Shri Niraj Ghaywan.</p><p>Earlier, the Festival was inaugurated by chief guest Shri</p><p>Yogesh Asthana, Chief Electrical Engineer with the lighting of</p><p>lamp along with film producer Shri Anurag Kashyap, Actor Shri</p><p>Sanjay Mishra, Actress Miss Richa Chadda and co-artists of the</p><p>film MASAAN as well as Controller of Stores Shri A.K.Goel,</p><p>Chief Personnel Officer Shri Arjun Tabiyar, Deputy General</p><p>Manager Shri Manish Gupta and other officers. </p><p>During the three-day film festival, 10 awarded and popular</p><p>films as HUNTERRR and LAJWANTI in Hindi CHOTODER CHOBI in</p><p>Bengali, BRIDGEND in English were screened on 25th July,</p><p>whereas on 26th July GEET GATA CHAL in Hindi, POST CARD in</p><p>Marathi, NADIYA KE PAAR, NH 10 in Hindi as well as BRAHMIN</p><p>BULLS in English were shown. </p><p>On this occasion, distinguished persons as well as officers, employees of DLW &amp; Dainik</p><p>Jagran group including viewers from the adjoining areas and Varanasi city enjoyed the screening of</p><p>the films according to their choice in a large number. </p></li><li><p>LED bulb distribution camp</p><p>With the aim of energy conservation in Diesel Locomotive Works Township, a LED bulb</p><p>distribution camp is being organised from 26th to 31st July at Jalalipatti Sub-Station-3 (Near Kalyan</p><p>Kendra Health Unit). This camp is being organised under</p><p>the joint auspicious of DLW Electrical Department, Ministry</p><p>of Power, Govt. of India, Energy Efficiency Services Limited</p><p>and Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited.</p><p>Shri Yogesh Asthana, Chief Electrical Engineer started the camp on 26 th July with the cutting</p><p>of ribbon. On this occasion, Shri K.M.Singh, Dy. CE as well as other officers, Staff Council members</p><p>and employees were present in a large number. </p><p>It is mentionable here that under the DELP scheme of</p><p>Govt. of India, implemented by UPPCL in Uttar Pradesh, all</p><p>the DLW officers and employees are taking advantage of this</p><p>scheme by producing photocopy of their Identity Cards.</p><p>Maximum 10 bulbs are being given to each employee @ `</p><p>100/- per bulb. Three years replacement warranty is also provided on these M/s. Crompton</p><p>Greaves made branded 7 watt LED bulbs.</p></li><li><p>JUNE-2015</p><p>Kavya Sandhya at DLW</p><p>Under the auspices of Rajbhasha Department a "Kavya Sandhya" was organised at DLW</p><p>Auditorium (Cinema Hall) on 24th June, 2015. Eminent poets and satirists participated in this Kavya</p><p>Sandhya.</p><p>Among the noted poets from Varanasi and outside, who</p><p>recited their poetries and satires in the meet were Shri Hari</p><p>Narayan Singh 'Harish' (Ghazipur), S/Shri Kamlesh Dwivedi</p><p>(Kanpur), Bhal Chandra Tripathi (Azamgarh), Akhilesh Dwivedi</p><p>(Allahabad), Fazihat Gahmari (Ghazipur), Kumar Pravin</p><p>(Ghazipur), B.R.Viplavi (Mughalsarai), Dinesh Chandra (Mughalsarai) and Hradai Narain (DLW).</p><p>Reciting their poetries they made a scathing attack on the present politics, social evils and</p><p>irregularities prevailing in the society. They covered a wide spectrum of themes on contemporary</p><p>life and were widely acclaimed by the audience. The poets mesmerised the audience by presenting</p><p>the lyrics in their own voice. Kavya Sandhya was conducted by the prominent poet critic Shri Hari</p><p>Narayan Singh 'Harish'. While, renowned poet Shri B.R.Viplavi (Mughalsarai) presided over the</p><p>Kavya Sandhya.</p><p>Earlier, Chief Guest of the programme Shri Ashok</p><p>Kumar Harit, General Manager as well as Smt. Sumitra Harit,</p><p>Chairperson, Smt. Anuradha Singh, Vice-Chairperson, Smt.</p><p>Shashi Narayan, Treasurer, DLW Womens Welfare</p><p>Organisation and Shri Hradai Narain, Mukhya Rajbhasha</p><p>Adhikari inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp</p><p>jointly. </p><p>On this occasion, GM Shri Harit awarded 09 officers for giving maximum dictation in</p><p>Rajbhasha. Shri Harit also gave away awards to 16 officers</p><p>and employees for doing excellent and maximum work in</p><p>Hindi. In the Kavya Sandhya heads of the departments as well</p><p>as members of DLW Womens Welfare Organisation, officers,</p><p>Staff Council members, employees and audience from outside</p><p>also were present in a large number. Earlier, Shri Hradai</p><p>Narain, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari welcomed the guests and</p><p>poets who made the evening splendid. Dr. Sanjay Kr. Singh, Varishtha Rajbhasha Adhikari</p><p>proposed the vote of thanks and Shri Amlesh Shrivastava conducted the programme efficiently.</p></li><li><p>All India Railway Civil Defence Meet at DLW</p><p>All India Railway Civil Defence Meet was organised at Diesel Locomotive Works on 22nd</p><p>June, 2015 at Hall of Fame. It was presided by Shri Alok Kumar, Director, Indian Railways Civil</p><p>Defence and Executive Director/Civil Engineering, Railway</p><p>Board. On this occasion, welcoming the office-bearers and</p><p>members of Civil Defence coming from different zonal</p><p>railways Shri Alok Kumar said that Civil Defence units are</p><p>always praised for their useful contributions and relief works</p><p>being done during the time of emergency. He expressed</p><p>hope that this conference will provide an opportunity to the</p><p>representatives attending the conference to share their views</p><p>and experiences with each other. </p><p>In this conference, Senior Civil Defence Inspectors of Eastern Railway, North Eastern</p><p>Railway, Western Railway, West Central Railway, Central Railway, South East Central Railway,</p><p>Southern Railway etc. participated and focussed upon the various agendas, for which Shri Alok</p><p>Kumar, Director, Civil Defence assured them to find out appropriate solutions of their problems. </p><p>On this occasion, presenting the progress report of DLW Civil Defence, Shri Panna Lal,</p><p>Controller, DLW Civil Defence and Dy. Chief Engineer threw light on the activities of the</p><p>Ogranisation. Shri B.L.Nag, Dy. Controller, DLW Civil</p><p>Defence and Dy. Chief Project Manager/Vehicle proposed</p><p>the vote of thanks. While, Shri N.K.Mishra, Chief Warden</p><p>welcomed the guests and Shri A.B.Mishra, Sr. Civil Defence</p><p>Inspector conducted the whole programme efficiently. </p><p>Earlier, Shri Alok Kumar, Director, Indian Railways</p><p>Civil Defence and Executive Director/Civil Engineering,</p><p>Railway Board inaugurated the newly built Indian Railways Civil Defence Training Centre and</p><p>inspected the facilities available in Training Center.</p></li><li><p>International Day of Yoga</p><p>On the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2015, a huge Yoga training camp</p><p>was organised at DLW Stadium. Chief guest Shri A.K.Harit,</p><p>General Manager inaugurated the camp with lighting of lamp</p><p>along with S/Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, CME, A.K.Goel, COS,</p><p>Yogesh Asthana, CEE, Arjun Tabiyar, CPO and A.K.Sharma,</p><p>CQAM jointly.</p><p>In the camp Shri Satya Narayan Yadav, Yogacharya of</p><p>Archana Yogayatan (authrised by Ministry of Aayush, Govt. of India) demonstrated various</p><p>exercises of Yoga and also helped the HODs, officers, employees and their family members in</p><p>doing them various types of Yoga.
