Our first – and only – meeting of July took place on the 18th at 6:30 pm at University Place on the campus of Potomac State College. After a wonderful dinner, we set out to find out which Keyser Lions know the most about Lionism. We held a “pub quiz” and at the end of the night members of one of the teams were declared “wise guys” (ask them to see their certificates). Our first meeting of August was held on the 1st at 6:30 pm. After a quick dinner, we all got in our cars and headed over to the new Keyser Primary School. There we had a deluxe tour of the new facility. It was very im- pressive. Almost makes you want to go back to school. Almost. On July 31st and August 2nd the Keyser Lions manned the Mobile Eye Screening Unit at the Mineral County Fair in Fort Ashby. Over the two nights we provided free eye screenings for fairgoers for eight hours. On August 7th our club hosted the annual Inter-Club Banquet at University Place. It was a great night of fellow- ship with members of the two Keyser Kiwanis Clubs, the Keyser Rotary, and the Fountain Ruritan. The next day our club provided snacks and drinks for Mineral County teachers who attended additional Lions Quest training at Keyser Primary Middle School. The teachers that I spoke with were very enthusiastic about implementing the Lions Quest curriculum in their classes. Our second meeting of August will take place on the 15th at University Place at 6:30 pm. Our guest speaker will be Frank Roleff, President of the Mineral County Historical Society. He will talk about some of the current and upcoming activities of the Historical Society. Our first meeting of September will be on the 5th at University Place at 6:30 pm. We will have a guest speaker from Sarah’s House – Child Advocacy Center. SARAH's House provides a different way to investigate, prosecute and treat child abuse and neglect. It is both child-focused and child-friendly. Our second meeting of September will be our annual picnic at the West End Park. It will take place at 6:00 pm on the 19th. It will be an evening of good food, good fun, and a special event. Please plan to bring your whole family and a favorite dish to share. Hope to see you at these events.

Katya

Greetings, Keyser Lions.

It’s been a busy few weeks for our club. Our first – and only – meeting of July took place on the 18th at 6:30 pm

at University Place on the campus of Potomac State College. After a wonderful dinner, we set out to find out

which Keyser Lions know the most about Lionism. We held a “pub quiz” and at the end of the night members

of one of the teams were declared “wise guys” (ask them to see their certificates).

Our first meeting of August was held on the 1st at 6:30 pm. After a quick dinner, we all got in our cars and

headed over to the new Keyser Primary School. There we had a deluxe tour of the new facility. It was very im-

pressive. Almost makes you want to go back to school. Almost.

On July 31st and August 2nd the Keyser Lions manned the Mobile Eye Screening Unit at the Mineral County

Fair in Fort Ashby. Over the two nights we provided free eye screenings for fairgoers for eight hours.

On August 7th our club hosted the annual Inter-Club Banquet at University Place. It was a great night of fellow-

ship with members of the two Keyser Kiwanis Clubs, the Keyser Rotary, and the Fountain Ruritan. The next day

our club provided snacks and drinks for Mineral County teachers who attended additional Lions Quest training

at Keyser Primary Middle School. The teachers that I spoke with were very enthusiastic about implementing the

Lions Quest curriculum in their classes.

Our second meeting of August will take place on the 15th at University Place at 6:30 pm. Our guest speaker

will be Frank Roleff, President of the Mineral County Historical Society. He will talk about some of the current

and upcoming activities of the Historical Society.

Our first meeting of September will be on the 5th at University Place at 6:30 pm. We will have a guest speaker

from Sarah’s House – Child Advocacy Center. SARAH's House provides a different way to investigate, prosecute

and treat child abuse and neglect. It is both child-focused and child-friendly.

Our second meeting of September will be our annual picnic at the West End Park. It will take place at 6:00 pm

on the 19th. It will be an evening of good food, good fun, and a special event. Please plan to bring your whole

family and a favorite dish to share.

Hope to see you at these events.
