GRAND PARK FAQ’SWhy build Grand Park?Westfield has a low commercial tax base because of our low number of commercial businesses. The only way to lower our tax bills is to bring in businesses to our community. We are constantly competing with other cities for economic develop-ment projects, and Westfield’s Grand

Park sports campus will provide the City with a competitive advantage in the eco-nomic development marketplace. This will allow the City to diversify its tax base and ultimately lower tax bills for our residents. We need to provide a unique place where businesses want to locate and Grand Park is that place. Will my taxes be affected?Residents’ taxes will not be raised to pay for Grand Park. In fact, the project will bring commercial businesses to Westfield, diversifying our tax base, and lowering our tax bills. Where is the specific location for Grand Park?Grand Park will sit on 350 acres surrounded by 1400 acres of developable land. The entire area borders SR32 on the south, 191st Street on the north, Springmill on the west and US31 on the east. When will it be completed?Construction will begin in fall of 2011 and we are expected to have fields ready for play in 2012. Orphan Trains through Westfield

In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, orphaned, abandoned and home-less children were moved from the streets of New York to homes in the Midwest via trains.
