STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS

“For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.” ROMANS 11:29 God has a special mission in mind for each of us. He has given us the gifts we need to accomplish that mission. We are called to be good stewards by using those gifts to do the work that He has planned for each of us. If we deny our gifts or fail to use them as God call us to use them, then some part of His work will be left undone.

REST IN PEACE In your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Dolores Ryan, who died on August 10th and for whom a Funeral Mass was held in

church on August 16th. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

SPIRITUAL DYNAMIC CATHOLIC, ALIVE! COMMUNITY

PARISH LIFE

Perseverance in Prayer. Today’s passage in Scripture is challenging because Jesus does not seem just or kind to this woman who has such great faith in His power as God. However, His purpose in act-ing and speaking the way He did was to show the woman how necessary it is to remain persistent and dedicated in prayer. He shows us the truth that our prayers often seem ignored or neglected. The truth is that God rewards us when we con-tinue to ask for what we need in prayer. When we most want to give up on prayer and neglect our spiritual life, we must find the energy and strength to remain steadfast in it.
