Feeding America CampaignFrom Stephanie Buckley, VP, Marketing

The Little Clinic, Kroger and Feeding America Team Up to Fight Influenza and Hunger

Every year we administer flu shots to protect our patients and their families from contracting influenza. This year, we are doing even more - we are going to feed the hungry.

In partnership with Kroger and Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization, we will donate one meal through Feeding America’s local food bank network for every flu shot administered at all Kroger family of pharmacies or The Little Clinic locations. This exclusive campaign will officially launch on August 15 and will run through April 1, 2017 or until we exhaust our supply of influenza vaccine. The goal is to donate over one million meals!

The Feeding America campaign will be supported by in-store signage, which will be delivered to all clinics no later than August 26. The signage will be co-branded with pharmacy and more details about it can be found here. Other types of communication, such as, television, radio, online ads, outdoor billboards, social media posts, in-store radio and front-end Catalina prints, will also support this campaign. The types of communication will vary by division.

In next week’s News Blast, we will share more information about this campaign. In the meantime, get ready to fight influenza and feed the hungry!

Celebrity Sweat Fitness EventFrom John Brunner, Field Marketing Manager - Nashville and Knoxville

On Saturday, July 30, we, along with members of our pharmacy team in the Nashville division, sponsored and attended a fitness event in Nashville called “Celebrity Sweat.” The focus of the event was the importance of eating healthy along with exercising and staying fit. The main fitness celebrity at the event was Billy Blanks – founder and inventor of the popular Tae Bo fitness and exercise program.

Blanks personally conducted two intense Tae Bo workout sessions during the event. We had two of our dietitians at the event along with Eileen Myers and myself to engage with people, discuss our dietitian and clinical services and provide nutritional information focused on protein. The pharmacy team was there with several pharmacy students and a patient care specialist with information and offering body mass index screenings. Kroger donated water and bananas that we handed out at the event as well.

All in all it was an event that allowed our pharmacy and TLC dietitians to work closely together to promote our services and be yet another sign of us “Advancing as One.” (Plus, the dietitian (Leigh Cole) and Pharmacy Patient Care Specialist (Suzan Ali) got a great Tae Bo workout in that day!)

Jan Frager and Saniqua Hampton at The Little Clinic in Mount Washington

I requested your information from your staff because I wanted to tell you about my visit at The Little Clinic in Mount Washington earlier this week. From the moment I checked in, I was treated so well. Saniqua was very friendly and efficient and Jan Frager was awesome. She spent so much time with me and listened very attentively. I myself work in a hospital and I know how busy clinicians can be. It really meant a lot to me that Ms. Frager spent so much time with me despite her extremely busy day. I appreciate both of them and I am feeling much better! Ms. Frager is very knowledgeable.
