. Adding Audio to Slides with Video Tutorial
Our first step will be selecting a slide in our PowerPoint which has video running in the background. In
this case, the main page of “Head Outline with Gears”.
1. Select the “Insert” Tab and move the cursor to the second icon from the end “Audio”
p. 2
2. Select the dropdown box below the word “Sound” and choose where you would like to pull your
audio file from. In our case, we pulled the audio file from the Clip Art which is available with the
MS Office Suite.
3. Notice on the right side of your screen a “Clip Art” pane will appear. Select the item you would
like to insert into the slideshow. In our case we chose “Conveyer”
p. 3
4. When you click the icon you will get a pop-up asking how
you want the sound to start in the slide show.
“Automatically” is the default choice, and it is the option
which you should be using. Click “Automatically” or hit
Enter to move to the next step.
5. The audio file will insert to the center of your slide which is selected. Make sure that you move
the icon off the video, or it may be accidentally clicked during presentation, causing timing
issues. In order to move the icon, simply click and drag to wherever you would like the image to
be moved.
Congratulations! You have successfully added an audio file to play with your video during a
presentation. Make sure you play your presentation through at least once to verify there are no
problems with animations, timing or slides in general.
