Production Process Evaluation

Research• The research I did to aid in creating my product helped me choose a genre

and layout of my product. The demographics/psychographics helped me set out my product that would appeal to the target audience, and gave my product a target.

• The weaknesses of my research was not having had time to look at more products and analyse

Planning

• The planning helped me create a good contingency plan in case anything happened to my work in the process of creating it. It also allowed me to see what format I should put my work into and how the audio would sync up to the music.

Time Management• I think I achieved the deadline fairly well, however I could have completed

the production slightly faster than I did, but the recording had some complications as it was hard to find a good place to record in the college.

• I would probably have made my podcast longer if I would have had time.

Target Audience Appeal• I think the podcast would appeal to the audience as this is the general

demographic that listens to this type of podcast. As discussed in my proposal the age range of people interested in the paranormal is very wide.

Technical Qualities

• The podcast has various effects and audio snippets added in to add drama and suspense, I would compare this to something like Welcome to Nightvale or MITD.

Aural Qualities

• In my opinion the podcast was slightly short, and could have had more content, however the overall quality of the audio was good, and the addition of small sound clips accompanying the words helped create atmosphere.

Audience Appeal• In my opinion the target audience involves a wide variety of listeners, as the topic at

hand (the paranormal) is interesting to many generations of people and still is a very widely discussed topic.
