Survey Monkey questionnaires.

Survey Monkey• I constructed a questionnaire based on the effectiveness of my music video with the combination of my ancillary texts, I wanted to see what my target audience thought of my product. I posted a link to my survey on Facebook and Twitter to try and get a response from different genders and ages.

The Questions asked in my questionnaire

Survey analysis•9 people responded to my survey, which isn’t a very large amount of people and isn’t an accurate representation of my target audience. But I used Survey Monkey to analyse and collect the results of my survey it will give me an idea of what my audience thought of my products as a collective, if they thought they were effective, if they believed my products created continuity and if the audience thought of anything I could improve on if I could make my product again.

When I asked this question I got the response I hoped for, all the responders said that my products conform to the pop genre which is the genre I chose for my music video. This says to me that my products as a whole were effective in reflecting the pop genre and met the conventions.

I overall got really positive feedback. The responders all stated that my products were effective and looked professional this allows me to understand that the combination of my products are effective and conform to the pop genre. I got some feedback which I have taken as constructive criticism about that my ancillary texts are a bit bright and animated in comparison to my music video but this is the look I wanted to go for. But overall, from this video I believe that all my products are effective.

Also this is positive feedback because the audience believe that my product fits the genre effectively through my use of convention usage that meets the pop genre. Also audiences are saying about how the pop genre is still met even though my chosen song is slow. But with the positive feedback from my audiences I believe that my products do fit the pop genre effectively.

I wanted to see if my music video fit under a specific category like Sven Carlsson (1999) stated that all media texts fit under a specific category. Here the highest ranking one was narrative which I agree with because I wanted to make the narrative the most enticing part of my music video. Also some of the responders believe that my music video had aspects of all the categories which is okay because they can fit under all of the categories.

The responders believe that my narrative is what makes my product effective. I believe my music video is effective because it shows the narrative well and the responders believe the narrative is the strong point of my music video and what makes it effective and look professional.

Overall 7 people suggested that they believe that my products do work together to create continuity which is the answer I needed. It reflects my evaluation question and through the eyes of the audience reinforces that my products do create continuity so are working effectively and look effective.

The responders suggested that there is a clear motif which reinforces the house style and there is a house style because of the clear theme that I have portrayed. The responders also picked up on the use of fonts and that it creates a running theme throughout which made me confident about my products and made me realise that they may be more professional than I originally thought.

I asked my audience if there is anything they could suggest I could do to make my products more effective and the running theme was dimming down the colours of my ancillary texts to engage with the theme of my music video. But I have taken this on board but I have done my ancillary products in a specific way to reflect the pop genre.

What I have found from audience feedback•I have realised that after analysing the questionnaires I constructed that my audience enjoyed my products and that they’re very effective and fit the pop genre. They all said about that my products create continuity through the use of fonts, editing, costume and colour.
