Senior Citizens….

The UMW served 17 members of the Senior Citizens a delightful luncheon on May 10th. Adelphia was in charge this month as our president was enjoying a short vacation with family. Thanks to all who helped. We couldn’t do it without you.

Garage Sales…..

After weeks of preparation the garage sales have come and gone. If you have never had a garage sale you probably don’t realize the time, work and planning that goes into it. It was a great success. This is a good money making project. Many, many people helped or donated money and/or cookies etc. for the lunch/snack sales. Thank you one and all. Thanks also to Terri for picking up the leftovers to be taken to the clothing closet.

Malcom’s funeral…..

We have lost a great friend. We will miss you, Malcom. The UMW provided a luncheon after the funeral. Serving almost 150 people we thank all who helped us. To Mary, Cynde, Anita, Betsy and Donna. This was such a nice service! Remember, we are all here for you if you need us.

On a lighter note…..

I recently getting my hair cut and overheard the following comment. It went something like this. “Did you see the garden at the Methodist Church parsonage? It is beautiful!” My hairdresser said to me “Rebecca has a great garden! She puts me to shame.” I just answered by saying “yes, she does”. Then I put in a plug for the youth and the farmers market.

May activities for the UMW….. Mother/Child Banquet The annual Mother/Child Banquet was held on May 7th. Approximately 75 mothers, grandmothers, and children were in attendance. The ladies planned a nice event. Marilyn, Virginia and Grace were in charge of table decorations. Betty and Adelphia with Mary’s help were in charge of reservations. The men with help from Pam prepared a great meal of chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed broccoli/cauliflower, salad, and hot rolls. Members of the UMW baked the cakes. Kate planned the program which was very well received. Pastor Michael accompanied us as we sang familiar tunes. Rebecca dressed in Amish attire presented a very nice slide show of Amish life. It was truly a wonderful evening. Thanks to all who helped in any way to make this banquet a success.

Adelphia and Betty make the cole slaw for the senior citizen luncheon.

challenges is accepting the fact that we are the ones who need to be restored to God in our hearts first, and out of our hearts, in our worship of God and in our service to others. What God works in us, we work out in our daily Chirstian way of life. So, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed when I was with you, it is even more important that you obey now when I am away from you, keep working out your deliverance with fear and trembling, for God is the one working in you both the willing and the working for what pleases HIm. Philippians 2:12-13I bid you peace in your inner-most selves, Michael
