Using MS Teams

Student Manual



Downloading MS Teams Application

- Download the desktop application by visiting this webpage:

app-teams/download-365/microsoft-https://www.microsoft.com/en/microsoft

- You can also download the mobile application from the same webpage or

through the App store on your mobile.

- When the installation file is downloaded, start installation of the app on your

computer.

- Once the installation is completed, go to desktop and double click on "Microsoft

Teams" shortcut icon to open the app.



Signing in the Application

- When you sign in for the first time, enter your university email ID and then click

on the “Next” button:



- After that, enter your university email password and then click on the “Sign in”

button:



Joining the Virtual Class

- When you get the virtual class (VC) link from the course page on LMS, or when

you receive it from your tutor on your email, open the link in any web browser to

get the below webpage:

There are three options on this page:

1- "Download the Windows app"

To download the desktop app on your PC

2- "Continue on this browser"

To join the virtual class from the browser, but you must first log in with your

university email from the browser through this page: https://outlook.office.com

3- "Open your Teams app"

To join the VC using MS Teams application.

Important Notes:

- It is preferable to join the virtual class using the application instead of the browser

to get a better experience and take advantage of all the features offered by the

program.

- You must "login" with your university email account in the application or

browser, before entering the virtual class, and if you do not login with your

account, you will not be allowed to join the virtual class.

After logging in with your university email account, and joining the virtual class, the

following window will be displayed:

From this window, choose the video and audio options by selecting the "Computer

audio" option, then click the "Join now" button to join the lecture.



If you join before the time of the lecture or if the tutor does not arrive, the following

window will appear:



- When the tutor arrives, you will be entered into the virtual class automatically,

and you will be moved to the following window:
