HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS - 4TH EDITION:CUSTOMIZABLE CURRICULUM ON A USB FLASH DRIVEMore visually stimulating and interactive: The new style emphasizes graphics by decreasing text on PowerPoint® slides and in some cases, using interactive flash objects. This emphasis adds opportunity for real life illustration and the ability to discuss concepts more concretely.More interaction during instructional time: The new style incorporates review questions and learning activities into instructional time. The review and discussion questions are sequenced to encourage student participation, both individually and as a class.More content driven: The new style uses a graphics based PowerPoint® delivery. This allows students to focus on the ideas and content being delivered, not just the words projected onto the screen. (publisher IFSTA / FPP)#36608 (USB - Includes Clip Art)

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS - 4TH EDITION: SELF STUDY GUIDE (PRINT OR INTERACTIVE)The guide contains hundreds of multiple choice questions. The answers, found in the back of the self-study guide, are listed by chapter. Each answer is referenced to the manual page on which the answer can be found. The electronic self-study guide allows students to proceed through the questions in random order, find out immediately whether his or her answer is correct or wrong, and be referred to the source for the correct answer if necessary. All questions are in the multiple-choice format, which provides good practice for civil service and certification examinations. At the end of each session, the program provides a review sheet and allows students to retake any missed questions. Each time the student goes through the program, the questions are rearranged randomly so that no two sessions are identical.(publisher IFSTA / FPP)#36605 (Print) #36606 (USB Interactive)

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS - 4TH EDITION: COURSE WORKBOOKIntended as a study aid for students as part of a class. The use of this workbook will help improve student performances. Instructors may choose to integrate these workbook activities into their classes or use them as homework assignments or pre-course work. Different types of questions and activities are used to reinforce different learning styles. References to page numbers are included in the workbook so students can use the product as a self-study tool by referring to the manual for correct answers. The answer key, however, is included with the instructor’s curriculum materials where students cannot obtain access. (publisher IFSTA / FPP)#36607 (Print)

Vehicle extrication emergencies are a leading category of response for re and rescue personnel. Responding to these incidents is inherently dangerous

because of vehicle trac and many other hazardous conditions. Both the patient and responders’ lives depend on solid, up-to-date training in incident

management, basic operational procedures and knowledge of tools and techniques used to complete an ecient and eective extrication. It’s critical

that emergency responders are aware of hazards and how to control themat an extrication scene. Familiarity and knowledge of equipment use

and of new vehicle technology is key to rescuer safety.

To help instructors meet these challenges, we have expanded our Vehicle Extrication series with new programs on hybrid and electric vehicles,

advanced steel and alternative techniques for situations when the teammust extricate trapped patients without hydraulic rescue tools.

Teaches to the current NFPA® 1001, 1006 and 1670 standards.

Rapid InterventionFirefighters are accustomed to responding to calls for help from the public, but they are not accustomed to responding to calls for help from fellow firefighters. When a Mayday is declared on the fireground, it is too late to start making up a rapid intervention team. These life-saving crews must be trained, equipped and ready to respond to a Mayday call instantly. A fellow firefighter’s life may depend on it!

Rapid Intervention is a two-part series on firefighter rescue at structure fires. While presenting many of the prerequisite knowledge and skill requirements of NFPA® 1500 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, it is based on information from a variety of the latest references. Rapid Intervention goes beyond textbook theory and includes information gleaned from actual downed firefighter incidents.

Accurate size-up of the fire situation is crucial to the implementation of any strategic plan and its supporting tactics. Size-up starts with the receipt of the alarm and may be carried out many times and by many different individuals during the course of a fire.

The responsibility for size-up initially lies with the first officer on the scene, although all engine company members need to be able to make a personal size-up of the fire situation. As higher ranking officers arrive, the responsibility for size-up passes up the chain of command.

This series focuses on the initial size-up of an incidentby first on scene personnel.

T E A C HEASY & EFFICIENT • Students can study anytime, from any computer with a hi-speed internet connection • Instructors can flip the classroom and spend more time with hands on training • If students are interrupted while taking a course, they can return later and pick up where they left off

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN • ATS online course design blends the seeing is believing power of video with true interactivity to produce a more competent emergency responder • ATS visual training content is unequaled in the industry

STANDARDS BASED • No talking head video here • Engaging video immerses the adult learner in the demonstration of job skills or patient care activities • All demonstrations are performed by professional emergency care responders • Only skills that comply with recognized standards are shown in ATS courses

COMPETENCY-DRIVEN • Students are asked a series of questions as they watch a course video • If a question is answered incorrectly the program stops, backs up and shows the video clip again with the correct answer • Students must answer all questions correctly to move ahead, so they can't continue through the course with a misconception • This formative assessment is unique to ATS interactive courses

T R A C KStudent activity is tracked and recorded automatically by the online Learning Management System (LMS).

All EMS courses are CECBEMS accredited and credit hours are reported to CECBEMS each month.

Instructors can run a variety of reports to suittheir needs, export results to other applicationsand even set reports to be automatically emailedon a regular schedule.

T E S TAfter completing a training objective with the formative assessment, students must pass a section quiz to demonstrate their retention and understanding of the material before moving on to the next training objective.

At the end of a course, students are given a final exam to test their competency with allthe training objectives.
