DESCRIPTION The Atlas ® Human Hematology/Immunology Array includes 406 human cDNAs, nine housekeeping control cDNAs, and negative controls immobilized in duplicate dots on a nylon membrane. Two identical arrays are included, along with reagents for synthesizing radioactively labeled cDNA probes. A transparent Orientation Grid is also provided to allow identification of cDNA's corresponding to the positive hybridization signals. See the enclosed CD-ROM for functional classes and complete gene representation on this array. QUaLitY controL Data

1. The size and identity of all cDNAs were verified by PCR amplification, agarose/EtBr gel electrophoresis and sequencing.

2. The Control Poly A+ RNA was electrophoresed on a formaldehyde/agarose EtBr gel. The pattern observed was that expected for human placenta poly A+ RNA.

3. A biotinylated cDNA probe was synthesized using the control poly A+ RNA according to the Atlas SpotLight™ Labeling Kit (Cat No. 634803) User Manual or a radioactively labeled probe was synthesized using the Control Poly A+ RNA according to the Atlas Array User Manual. This probe was hybridized to the array, and the expected hybridization pattern was observed.
