Beginning Of A New Journey

January 14, 1965 to June 24,1975

Norman Gillet started the company in 1965, with the first office Minford Garden, West Kensington.

Ford Cortina

The 1965 Ford Cortina was the first car to become part of the Atlas Cars fleet.

May 16th 1969

Early Expansion

In around 1969, a larger office was setup on Glen Thorne Road, Hammersmith

August 2nd 1975

Period of GrowthOwing to stable growth, 1975 saw our headquarters shift again, to bigger offices located at 792-798 Fulham Road in the metropolis of London.

May 19th , 1976

Initial phase of Cab industry

From serving the earliest shopaholics on world-famous Kings Road, Atlas Cars had started to become a renown and trusted name for cab-hire in west London for individuals and families alike.

July 14, 1977 – August 21, 1980

Infusion Of Entrepreneurial SpiritTed & Nikkie laid the foundation for the future corporate outline of the company, by taking a small backstreet taxi firm, and transforming it into a leading entity on Fulham road. Their investment in UHF radio communication revolutionized the company's dispatch operations and stayed in use till 2006 the brand new office built by them was critical in establishing an aesthetical image of the company. Moreover, the invoicing framework they built was critical in streamlining the payment mechanism and made it convenient for customers as well as the company.

August 21, 1980 – April 23, 1985

An Interesting TurnIn around 1980’s brought one of the most interesting changes to the company. With the advent and growing popularity of cameras in the era, a studio that was fast gaining market-share was Photobition. Atlas Cars became their go-to provider for delivering client albums all over, and their delivery bill crossed the bounds to the extent that they eventually acquired Atlas Cars!

October 7, 1980

The Genesis Of An Era 

Alongside the camera, improved phone services were enabling better communication and cab hire was witnessing an evolution, as more people were beginning to call cabs over using phones.

April 23, 1985 – May 18, 2002

Atlas Cars RebornIn 1984 a gentleman called Jack Levy joined Atlas Cars as taxi driver. Jack was an unusual sort of taxi-driver and was popular among the customers. In September 1985 Jack bought Atlas Cars for £125,000 from Photobition.

June 11, 1985 – December 31, 1995

The Diversification EraThe era saw an overall innovation trend in the cab industry, and executive services were now part of many cab company service-portfolios including Atlas Cars. Atlas Cars now offered luxurious and comfortable Mercedes models as part of its growing fleet.

June 24, 1990

Our Desire to ExcelAt the same time, owing to the company’s penchant for pioneering transformation in the market, we introduced cab-style meters in cars for the first time ever.

December 17, 1991

Infusion of Fresh DynamismIn 1991/2 a young student called Raza joined Atlas Cars as a part time driver And by March 2005, Raza bought Atlas Cars from Jack’s family. Since then he continues to power the company forward during an era when technology is transforming the cab industry.

September 4, 1997

Technology For SafetyGPS-tracking is enabled in all of the cars in our dynamic fleet, owing for real-time tracking that ensures a safer and more punctual experience than ever.

September 24, 2005

Caring About Our SurroundingsIn 2005, we cemented our status as an environment-friendly company and introduced the UK's first eco-friendly fleet of hybrid cars, earning praise from many all over.

In 2006, Atlas Cars implemented state-of-the-art dispatch system Cordic, which further catalyzed our reputation through faster response and an enhanced dispatch ecosystem.

Data Dispatch Revolution

Since 1972 till early 2006, UHF Frequency radios were used to dispatch jobs to drivers. Atlas Cars of London were among the first few Cab companies who embraced PDA systems to Dispatch jobs to their Drivers.

Due to growing demand of our service, Atlas Cars now run three more offices spread across London. Our customers trust in us to get from one point to another.
