s Mark Tw ain is said t ohave observed, Historymay not repeat itself, but i t sure does
rhyme. Current events seem tobe no excepti on. Parallels be-tw een war pairsGulf Wars, Iand II, and World Wars, I and IIare hard to i gnore.
Just w hen w e thought fas-cism was a thing of the past, wediscover it again in Iraq wherethe resemblance between theNazi and Baath parties is un-cannyto say nothing of Hit lerand Hussein. And, it seems, thepersistence of Iraq in developingweapons of mass destruct ion (at
least t he chemical and biologicalones) in defiance of U.N. sanc-tions has eerie echoes of Germanrearmament during t he interval between w orld wars, something also forbiddenby the world. How strange that Germany now plays the pacifist. Even thenaive belief held by many, tw o th irds of a century ago, that German intentionswere no threat has reappeared in simi lar w ishful th inki ng for I raq. Some wouldargue that even Nevil le Chamberlain has made a second coming, t hough thistime as a Frenchman.
Whatever the outcome of developments in the Middle East and around theworld, it seems clear that our civil ization is in the middle of another great init i-ation, or change. Whi le the full meaning of such episodes is not always ap-parent at the outset, hindsight w ill doubtless fill in the blanks.
The British historian Arnold Toynbee saw history, in terms of the rise andfall of civi lizations, follow ing distinct and recurring patterns. If Toynbee was
right, a civilizations survival is owed less to it s failure to deal w ith physical orenvironmental threats than to an inabilit y to respond to moral and spiri tualchallenges.
Previously in this space I have quoted one of my favorite teachers whoonce remarked, all change comes through dramatic episode. The corollary ofthat, I guess, w ould be that NO change comes WITHOUT dramatic epi sode. Sofor all of those who have been praying for change, it s wor th remembering theadvice to be careful what you pray for , you may get i t, drama and all. Neverthe-less, w e believe that whatever the outcome of the current struggle, if we findthe necessary courage and r ise to the occasion, w e have nothing to fear.
By the time you read th is, much w ill have transpir ed on the w orld stagethat hadnt , at t he time these words were wri tten, so you w ill be able to judgetheir import in the light of events known to you but not to me. I w ill be quitesurprised, how ever, i f I raq and the Middle East are not center stage. In th isissue you w ill read from Wil liam Henry (author of One Foot in Atlantis)
about a previously unsuspected l ink betw een ancient I raq and Ireland, andwith Moira Timms (author of Beyond Prophecies and Predictions ) you w illexplore the ancient Babylonian prophecy and learn why we are between Iraqand a hard place.
I could say more, but our p rophecy is that you w ill short ly see for yourself.

Fix in g the Time Prob lemArticles on the cal-
endar and the generalpropensity to evil on theplanet are interesting. However, I think thedoctrine of space-time is
weak and a diversion t oa real understanding ofwhat t ime is. Tech-nology also has its bene-fits and should not bedisliked. Women havebenefited greatly fromtechnology. Just thinkhow many more chil-dren would have to beborn t o keep the largefarms going. Going back to nature isnot the answer.
There really can be no such thing asspace-time. Space there can be andtime too, but not the abstract thing of
space-time. If there is a fourth dimen-sion it must be temperature, not time.Proof of this would be the immensemovements in temperature we see inthe seasons. Looking at time as thefourth dimension confuses the issue.Time occurs in our three-dimensionalworld as an event unfolds. The eventsmay have existed outside of time, butnot yet unfolded. Time exists only inour w orld. So if t his be true, then thesource for destruction so aptly de-scribed in issue #37 must exist outsidethe normal three-dimensional world. Itmust be a spirit being.
A modern word is virtual. Thesource of evil is a virtual state being. The ancient writings called this beingAhriman or Satan. He came up w ith theidea of space-time as a great cover forhis identity. Just think of all the war inthe last century. One finishes and an-other, in time, unfolds. Tesla spoke inhis autobiography of most people be-lieving in outside impressions as theirown. Here is where the impulses comefrom. They then play out in time, inour three-dimensional space. Theyhave been joined in a bizarre manner Co ntinue d o n Pa ge 9

I enjoyed very much(Chris Dunns) arti cle. In
regard to the possibilityof the Great Pyramidbeing a pow er plant,
consider, if you wi ll, thepossibil ity of the pyra-

th is case, the pyramid an-tennas would act as col-lectors, redirecting thereceived power down-

Bravo! Mich ael Crem o...Cremo once again does a great jobof poking holes in sacred Darwiniantheory! In light of the establishmentspropensity for clinging to Darwinsinept theory, much as a chi ld clings toits ragged and torn security blanket (asif there could be no tomorrow w ithoutit). It is a wonder that these diehardshave not arranged to have Michaeltarred and feathered...
Evolution is a process of modifica-tions that comes about so li fe can adaptto changing environments. As life re-ceives these modifications, it no longerexists in its previous form, having
evolved out of it! Yet here sitsDarwin s chartfi lled w ith creaturesthat man is supposedly evolved from. And if the creatures of the chart arentwholly the product of Darwins imagi-nation (that which must have hap-pened) then they are things that haveno business sti ll existing.
How can science give credence toan evolutionary chart that claims an-cestry for man stemming from so-calledprehistoric creatures that still exist inprol iferationas well as creatures
found now here in the fossil record? No
fossils of any transitional creatures any-where along the line have ever beenfound. We dont have an evolutionarychain at all as Darwin depicts it. All wehave is a str ing of creaturessome ex-isting, some hypothetical, no linkageanywhere whatsoever!

When Asteroids Look Like NukesThe whole article was so speculativethat almost every ot her sentence endedwith a question mark! It was also
overtly poli tical wi th at one point a def-inite Anti-US/Anti-Israel bias. You doyourselves no favors publishing paplike this and for those of us who con-sider the US and Israel as allies, if this isa veiled way of revealing your affilia-tions then maybe you should go aheadand declare them outright so some ofus can take our leavein t hese dif ficul ttimes there is no room for confusion orobfuscation.

We fai l to see wha t you are talk in gabout. Kettler points out the real dan -
gers in a highly volatile world of mis-taking an explosion caused by an as-teroid for a nuclear explosion. Thearticle does not fail to explain thatthere are safeguards against such aunfortunate error, but does not denythat an accident is possible. There isno criticism, express or implied, of ei-ther Israel or the U.S. unless youcount Johns skepticism about thetrack record of the human race ingeneral.
A.R. strives to stay above politics, and we do not take sides in most suchmatters, focusing instead on moresubtle issues not often discussed by
other media. We DO, however, takesides with good against evil as we un-derstand it, and we certainly believethat the attacks of 9/ 11 constit uted anexample of evil attacking good.Americas response to the threats high-lighted by that event seems to us to bemor e than j ustifi eda ma tter of civ il i-zation ( good) fighting for i ts sur vivalagainst the darkness of tyranny andanar chy (evil).

and prove your powers. Theres a mil-lion in it for you, and Ill bet that At-lant is Risingwould be happy to super-vise that process. Oh, Mr. Fowler isntinterested in making a million? What apity!
I see, Mr. Editor, that you are confi-dent of my need to avoid shelling outa million dollars and have applied yourprophetic pow ers to t he matter. Sir,Ive put my money where my mouth i s.Have you, or has Mr. Fow ler? No, andno. I challenge you both.

Atlanti s Risings Response to RandiI must say that I am surprised at
your objection to the term profes-sional debunker. In the few timesthat I have seen you on televi sion , you
certainly seemed to be an enthusiasticpractitioner of the craft. However, Idont think we implied, as you sug-gest, that you enter each examina-tion of a paranormal, supernatural,or occult claim with the a priori con-viction that i t i s unt ru e.
Regardi ng the story you referencedI would like to make a couple points. It was a small item picked up pri-marily for its amusement value byway of the Ananova news servicefrom the British paper mentioned. At-lantis Rising has no dog in this fight. We simply thought it interesting
enough for i nclusion in ourEarly Rayssection. While, admittedly, being sympa-
thetic to paranormal possibilities, At-lantis Rising has always attempted toapproach the subject in a more or lessscientific manner. We have made itpart of our mission to publicize the se-rious efforts of organizations such asthe Stan ford Research In sti tu te, theRhine lab at Duke, the PrincetonAnomalies lab, etc. Throughout, wehave always been careful to avoidaligning ourselves with poorly sub-stantiated individual claims. Wewould be the first to admit that much
of what passes for genuine in thisarea is bogus.
Our prim ary bone of contention iswith the tactics employed by those de-voted to the materialistic paradigm. To us it seems that their aim is to di-vert public attention from the seriousresearch, directing it, instead, to thesill y stuf f. All of thi s remi nds me of thestage magicians trick, which you cite,of misdirection.

I note that in your Number 38,March/April 2003, issue of AtlantisRising, you chortle over the prospectthat Randi Money Looks in Jeopardy.I thank you for your concern.
A few comments: First, I am not, asyou state, a professional debunker. That designation would indicate that Ienter each examination of a para-normal, supernatural, or occult claimwith the a priori conviction that it isuntrue. I do not. I have always lookedat a claim objectively, willing to beshown. And, as you know, Im a mil-lion dol lars wort h of w illi ng. See ourweb page at w ww.randi.org.
I never cease to be amused at theastonishment among believers, that theJREF million-dollar prize has not al-ready been won. Their only explana-tion, as you demonstrated, is to con-clude that the tests for any claim mustbe rigged. As a simple examinationof the record, will show thats not pos-sible. All tests are designed and con-ducted in collaboration with the clai-mants, and supervised by independentpart ies about w hom the JREF and theclaimants agree. If that requirement isnot met, we do not proceed further. Please note: no such conflict has everarisen, and we have carried out manypreliminary tests which every claimanthas failed; thus no formal test has everbeen done.
I note that psychic Gary Fowler
who I d not heard of beforeclaimsclairvoyant, clairaudient and healingabilities. That impressive spectrumshould surely qualify him to apply forthe JREF (James Randi EducationalFoundation) prize, but for some un-known reason, he has not done so!How could that be? We are certainlyprepared to consider his application. Iurge you to so inform him, unless hesshy, too busy to make a million, ordoubts his claimed powers.
It appears that youre not aware ofthe quite standard trick that Mr.Fowler used to perform his miracle. Its commonly done, in fact the samestunt was used just two weeks ago bythe team of Penn & Teller, on live tele-vision. They correctly predicted thescore of the Super Bowl football gamehere in the USA. Unlike Mr. Fow ler, they insisted that it was an ordinaryconjuring trick, right out of t he book. Imyself have used the trick many times, over the years, with the media ex-pressing amazement. Yes, I know thereaction to this comment: GaryFowler didnt do it that way!
Well, Mr. Fowler, prove it. Step up

T
gyptologists are very worked upthese days by the recent discoveryof a town buried 20 feet beneath thesand near Saqqara, the home of theStep Pyramid. Here, they believe, hasbeen discovered nothing less than anEgyptian Lourdes where, they claim,it is nearly certain the hitherto missingpyramid builders plied their t rade. Andgiven t he controversy that continues toswirl about the mysteries of ancientconstruction, Egyptologists have de-cided, apparently, they will wait nolonger to declare what they havefound. The hope seems to be that thematter can finally be put to rest, and
the edifice of orthodox understandingof the mysteries of ancient Egypt canbe preserved.
The discovering Scottish Archaeolo-gists, led by retired Edinburgh surveyorIan Mathieson, were led to the spot bygeothermal imaging as they searchedfor a road capable of bearing the 50-ton-plus loads required for the giantstones which moved about so routinelyin the ancient construction projects.

RISING EVENT
A.R. editor Dou g Kenyon And even though they have yet to findsuch a road, they remain optimisticthat, eventually, they wi ll.
At any rate plenty of artifacts havebeen turned up and the determinationhas been made that the town existedfrom around 2500 B.C. until about 54A.D. conveniently in line with the ap-proved chronology.
Dont be surprised if the Egyptolo-gists fail to produce the engineeringparaphernalia which would have madethe building of the pyramids possible. The sturdy road for which they havebeen searching is but one of manymissing links in their history of t he pyr-
amids. As Will Hart pointed out in hisstory for Atlantis Rising#38, Archae-ology and the Law of Gravity Egyptol-ogists have yet to demonstrate thatthey have grasped the full magnitudeof the achievement in Egypts mightymonuments. Ignoring the enormousengineering requirements, they remaincontent to speak of primitive, albeitcolorful, bronze age handicrafts andtombs for kings.

A recently taken satellite photo-graph of one side of the Sinai peninsulais being cited by the web site satellite-discoveries.com as corroboration of re-searcher Zecharia Sitchins claim thatan ancient spaceport once existed inthe region.
In his book The Stairway toHeaven Sitchin says, The Spaceportand the Landing Place at Baalbek lay on

ould a solar diet be the route to health, ormore? Hira Ratan Manek, 65, a mechanical
engineer from Calicut in Kerala believes so. Since1995, Manek has gotten all his nutrition from sun-light. No solid food at all for him, but he says hegets all the energy he needs through his eyes.Manek says people can induce changes in theirbody by gazing at the sun every day during thefirst hour of sunrise or last hour of sunset whilestanding barefoot on the ground.

Previously it has been demonstratedthat through the use of somethingcalled quantum entanglement two par-ticles could be made to share the sameinformation, regardless of the distancebetween them. Scientists were able tobombard one particle with a photonand then observe the other particle inthe same energy state. The problemcame when the second particle wasmeasured. The act of measuring causedthe particle to lose its link to the firstand to become useless. Now scientistsusing methods which are completelyinscrutable to the layman have foundanother way of confirming the transferw ithout disturbing the link.

ear midnight betw een the 9th and 10th ofJuly, 1856, N ikola Tesla was born of Serbian
parents in Croatia near Bosnia, an area that hasknow n centuries of turmoil . From such a humblebeginning came a Man Out of Tim ealmost l it -erallythe tit le of Margaret Cheneys 1981 biog-raphy of Tesla. The eccentr ic genius whowould grow from t his infant w as a man rootedin 19th centurys scientifi c revolutions of elec-tricity and magnetism. His electrical creations
would transform t he 20th century beyond recog-niti onwidely distri buted electri city t hat w oulddominate all aspects of lif e and a society per-vaded by global etheric wave communica-tion, radio and t elevision. Nikola Teslas legacyhas not yet come to full bloom, but it surely wil l inthis, the 21st century, which (one hopes!) will be much lessrecognizable to 20th centurians than the 20th century was tobe to the Victorians.
Tesla had come to the Unit ed States in 1884 w ith a letterof int roduction t o Thomas Edisonfrom Charles Batchelor, the British engineer who ran the Continental Edison Com-pany in Europe. The two towering figures, Edison and Tesla, had a very brief working relationship in America, but theirmanners, personalities, and approaches to commercializing
the generation and transmission of the electrical fluidclashed dramatically. Edison would remain stuck with theproblematic direct-current paradigm, while Tesla had longenvisioned his polyphase alternating current approach, which he invented down to i ts many particulars. Tesla won,of course, yet in 1943 he died in the New York hotel room inwhich he lived, in debt and in abject poverty. He was a vi-sionary scient if ic genius, not a savvy, cut -throat businessman. To this day, Tesla does not receive the credit he deserves.Though he was the true discoverer of the basic methods ofradio communication (as later formally adjudicated in a U.S.Supreme Court decision following Teslas death), popularhistory grants the honor of radios invention to Marconi, who had used Teslas ideas. Tesla knew of that interferenceat the time, but he just smiled; he was too immersed in hisother overarching plans for energy and communication.
We are far from the time of 19th century and early 20thcentury Nikola Tesla, when experiment and the concretetechnological device based on experiment was the ultimatearbiter of Truth. Today we live in establishment sciencesworld of Absolute Fiction. In this world, hundreds of experi-ments that show irrefutable evidence of nuclear reactions oc-curring at low-energy (LENR/cold fusion) can be dumpedint o the trash bin of alleged scient if ic failureto ci te one ex-ample of many such trashings. When Tesla worked, anothervery serious component of the universe was very much acri tical topic of discussion among physiciststhe ether (oraether). This was the postulated finely structured substance

that simply had to exist, if there was to be any hope of ex-plaining how light waves were to travel through what other-wise would be just a vacuum of absolute nothingness.
It is the opinion of conventional science that t he universeconsists of just t his: mass (embodied i n p art icles such as elec-trons, protons, neutrons, and various anti-matter particles)and electromagnetic radiation (visible light, radio waves, ul-traviolet and infrared radiation, x-rays, gamma rays, etc.). Allof this stuff is embedded, as it were, in what is called aspace-time plenum, which supposedly emerged into exis-tencefrom previous non-existencein a fraction of a second
of cosmic time (some 15 billion years ago in cosmictimeThis just in on February 12, 2003 f rom theNew YorkTimes, Confirmed! 13.7 billion years 200 million yearsago). For some reason, universal cosmic time is all right to
talk about, as distinct from curved or flat space-time,which w e mortals must be confined to, ac-
cordi ng to Einsteins Special Relati vit y theory;we cannot have our time and our space separ-
ately, or so we are told; no ones time is thesame time as that of another, w ho is moving
relative to him or her.In conventional science, all t he stuff of
the universe fills a regime of cosmic nothing-ness, with quantum mechanical electromag-netic fluctuations at an extremely small sub-
atomic level fi lli ng up this noth ingnessthe so-called zero-point energy. Virtual part icles suppos-
edly pop in and pop out of existenceunpredictably, chaotically, randomlyto sati sfy or
not satisfy mass-energy conservation. Recentlymore baggage has been added to this cosmic pic-
ture by convent ional science: It feels a need toaugment the universe w ith so far unidentif ied dark matter, dark energy, quintessence, and a seemingly interminableepicyclic bestiary of imagined creatures to help patch up theBig Bang with its primary structural feature, curved space-time, as dictated by General Relativity. This is Einsteinstheory that supposedly exp lains gravity, but which does nosuch t hing.
An all-pervading dark energy is the latest Establishmentdarling, which is supposedly accelerating the imagined ex-
pansion of the universe. Said expansion is critically depen-dent on the measured cosmic red-shifts in light being truly ofcosmic significance, not merely local-to-the-observed galaxyor quasar, i.e., of new physics significancebut that is an-other depressing story of the failures of Fizzix to considerpossible major cracks in it s foundations.
James Clerk Maxwell, who gave us the first version of theequations used in electromagnetic theory today, certainly be-lieved in an aetherthe luminiferous, static one that carr iedlight. As he wrote in the Ninth Edition of Encyclopedia Bri-tannica (which began appearing around 1875), The onlyaether which has survived is that which was invented by Hu-ygens to explain the propagation of light. The evidence forthe existence of the luminiferous aether has accumulated asadditional phenomena of light and other radiations havebeen discovered; and the properties of this medium, as de-
duced from the phenomena of light, have been found to beprecisely those required to explain electromagnetic phe-nomena. By the time of the 11th Edition of Britannica(1910), the aether w as sti ll alive and w ellfive pages of f ineprint and mathematics in Vol. 1 discuss the concept and ex-perimental questions about the aether in great detail, eventhe null interferometer result for the static aether, as ob-tained by A.A. Michelson in the 1880s. Active questioningabout the possibility of a dynamic (moving) aether was at thefore in the 11th edition. The article closed in a very upbeat

The Discoveries of Carlos Ribeiro
y work in the history of archaeology is guided by the Puranas, thehistorical writings of ancient India, which posit a human presenceextending millions of years into the past. Therefore, I was intriguedwhen I first discovered that Carlos Ribeiro, a Portuguese geologist of
the nineteenth century, had discovered stone tools in Miocene formationsabout 20 million years old.
When I learned that the European Assoc iation of Archaeologists annualmeeting for the year 2000 was going to be held in Lisbon, I proposed apaper on Ribeiros work for the section on history of archaeology. The pro-posal was accepted.
In the course of my research, I visited the MuseuGeolgicoin Lisbon. The Museu G eolgico is lo-
cated on the second floor of a 17th-centurybuilding in the historic center of Lisbon thatalso houses the Aca dem ia da s Cincias deLisboa. Ribeiros artifacts were stored out ofsight, below the display cases featuringmore conventionally acceptable artifactsfrom the Portuguese Stone Ages. I was ableto match artifac ts in the museum collec tionto twenty-one of the 128 drawings of arti-
facts shown in Ribeiros principal publicationon them. Assuming that all of the artifactspictured in this work were originally in themuseum collection, it appears that most are
now misplaced or otherwise missing.
After spending a week examining and pho-tographing the artifacts, I went to the library of the
Institute of Geology and Mines at Alfragide to studyRibeiros personal papers and maps. Using the information from them, I wentout to search for the original sites where Ribeiro collected his Miocene arti-facts. Fortunately, I was able to relocate some of these sites. The localitiesthat I found, with considerable help from Portuguese friends who served asdrivers and translators, were: (1) A site at the base of an escarpment thatruns along the north side of the road that goes from Carregado to Cada-faes. The site is about half the distance between Carregado and Cadafaes
(now spelled Cadafais), and can be reached by a small dirt road goingthrough some vineyards. (2) Quinta de Cesar in Carregado. (3) The hillcalled Murganheira, east of Alemquer . (4) Encosta da G orda, near theeastern side of the Murganheira hill. (5) The site on the right bank of the RiverOtta, where it passes the village of Otta. (6) Monte Redondo, about 2 kilom-eters northeast of Otta.
Lets take a closer look at the history of Ribeiros discoveries. In 1860, Ri-beiro learned that flints bearing signs of human work had been found in Mio-cene beds between Carregado and Alemquer, two small towns in the basinof the Tagus River, about 3540 kilometers northeast of Lisbon. Ribeiro beganhis own investigations, and in many localities found flakes of worked flint

Ribeiro exhibited his Miocene implements atthe Portuguese Ac ademy of Sciences in Lisbon(1871), at the Internationa l Congress of Prehis-toric Anthropology and Archaeology meeting in
Brussels (1872), and at the Paris Exposition (1878).Prominent scientists such as Gabriel de Mortillet agreed that
they were human arti-facts of extreme antiquity.
In 1880, the International Con-gress of Prehistoric Anthropologyand Archaeology, met in Lisbon.
The Congress was held in the or-nate main hall of the library of theAca demia d as Cincias, locatedon the floor below the MuseuGeolgico. The hall, still theretoday, is worth a visit. Ribeiro deliv-ered another report on his artifactsand displayed more specimensthat were extrac ted from Mio-cene beds. Ribeiro stated: Theywere found as integral parts of thebeds themselves. Some of the sci-entists present were still doubtful.
The Congress assigned a spe-cial commission of scientists thetask of direc tly inspecting the im-plements and the sites from whichthey had been gathered. On Sep-tember 22, 1880, at six in themorning, the commission membersboarded a special train and pro-ceeded north from Lisbon, getting off at Carregado. They proceeded fur-ther north to Otta, and two kilometers northeast from Otta arrived at thesouthern slopes of the hill called Monte Redondo. At that point, the scientistsdispersed into various ravines in search of flints.
Paul Choffat, secretary of the commission, later reported to the Con-gress: Of the many flint flakes and apparent cores taken from the midst of
the strata under the eyes of the commission members, one was judged asleaving no doubt about the intentional character of the work. This was thespecimen found in situby Bellucci. Choffat then noted that Bellucci hadfound on the surface other flints with incontestable signs of work. They ap-peared to be Miocene implements that had been removed from the Mio-cene conglomerates by atmospheric agencies.
De Mortillet gave an informative account of the excursion to Otta andBellucc is remarkable discovery: The members of the C ongress arrived atOtta, in the middle of a great freshwater formation. It was the bottom of ananc ient lake, with sand and clay in the center, and sand and rocks on theedges. It is on the shores that intelligent beings would have left their tools, and it is on the shores of the lake that once bathed Monte Redondo thatthe search was made. It was crowned with success. . . . Bellucci discoveredin situa flint bearing incontestable signs of intentional work. Before de-taching it, he showed it to a number of his colleagues. The flint was strongly
encased in the rock. He had to use a hammer to extract it. It is definitely ofthe same age as the deposit. Instead of lying flat on a surface onto which itcould have been secondarily recemented at a much later date, it wasfound firmly in plac e on the under side of a ledge extending over a regionremoved by erosion. It is impossible to desire a more complete demonstra-tion attesting to a flints position in its strata.
Modern authorities consider the Otta conglomerates to be from theEarly Miocene. After the excursion, the commission members discussed Ri-beiros artifact and came to a conclusion that was favorable to the authen-ticity of the discoveries.
In J uly, 2000, I retraced the commissions route. There is a road leading

i NEWSiNEWSeast from Otta to Aveiras de Cima. J ust as this road leaves Otta, one turnsonto a small dirt road leading north, and following it, one eventually comesto Monte Redondo. Monte Redondo and the surrounding area remain in anatural condition, undisturbed by any construction. Although I suspect thelandscape has changed somewhat, ravines on the southern slopes ofMonte Redondo, like those described in the report of the conference expe-dition, are still visible. Their profiles resemble the one figured by de Mortillet.
Ribeiro died in 1882. In 1889, his colleague J oaquim Fillipe Nery Delgadoconducted some new explorations at Monte Redondo. At a conference,Delgado dec lared he had not been able to duplicate Ribeiros discoveries
of worked flints in solid rock. But Delgado did see signs of human work onthe flints found loose on the ground. He said that many of these are incon-testably Tertiary [the geologica l period that includes the Miocene] andhave been naturally separated from the underlying beds solely by the ac-tion of atmospheric agencies.
In the discussion that followed Delgados talk, de Mortillet said he didnot think Delgados failure to find work flints in his four excavations was allthat significant. He pointed out that even in places very rich in artifacts, such as Chelles and St. Acheul in France, one c ould go through many cubicmeters of sediment without finding any flints showing signs of work.
In 1905, in a memorial volume dedicated to Ribeiro, Delgado further dis-tanced himself from the conclusions of his departed c olleague. Influencedby the discovery ofPithecanthropus erectusin Java in the 1890s, he castdoubt on the discoveries of Ribeiro. Pithecanthropus, an ape man, had
been found without any stone tools in a formation that scientists now con-sider to be about 1 million years old. Delgado implied that this ruled out theexistence of hu-mans like us 20million years agoin the Mioceneof Portugal.
In 1942, HenriBreuil and G.Zbyszewski of theGeological Ser-vice of Portugalrestudied the arti-facts collectedby Ribeiro. Un-
able to accepttheir Mioceneantiquity, theyassigned to themmuch more re-cent ages.
Here is oneexample of suchreclassification.Ribeiro described
an implement of light brown flint. It was one of several extracted from theLower Miocene beds forming the hill called Murganheira. The implementfrom the Miocene beds at Murganheira has a point showing signs of use. Onthe tool itself is an original label identifying it as from Murganheira . On thenew label prepared by the Geological Service of Portugal during the period
of reclassification, the artifact is identified as an Upper Paleolithic flint imple-ment found by Ribeiro at Murganheira, near Alemquer. According tomodern archaeologists, the Upper Paleolithic in Europe goes back about20,000 years. So the museum officials changed the label from 20 millionyears to 20,000 years.
Some time after this reclassification of Ribeiros collection, the artifactswere removed from display at the Museo Geolgico in Lisbon. Ribeiro andhis artifacts entered into an oblivion from which they have yet to emerge.

ccording to the view of main-stream historians, primitivecivilization in Mesopotamia,
Egypt, and in India emerged from thestone age just over five thousandyears ago.
Just a few centuries after what theexpert s say w as the fi rst great laborsaving invention of the ancient w orld, the w heel, society crossed a major di -vide and headed inexorably towardthe modern wor ld. The wheel, we aretold, revolutionized prim iti ve society
and set the stage for the great achieve-ments which w ere to follow .Such is the conventional scenario
for t he dawn of ci vilization on Earth .The assumption i s, that the rise ofhighly organized society w as unprece-dented. If there had been an earl ieradvanced civili zation, we would havediscovered unmistakable evidencehighw ays, and br idges and electr icalw iring; plastic bott les, cit y dumps, and CD Roms. Those, aft er all , arethe things which w e wil l leave topuzzle future archeologists.
But could an ancient civili zationhave risen to heights simi lar to our
own and, perhaps, have traveled a dif-ferent road? Would w e understand aworld which might have employedfundamentally dif ferentthough noless effect ivetechniques to harnessthe forces of nature? Would we un-derstand, for example, the transmis-sion of energy by means other than a power grid, rapid transit w ithout i nternal com-bustion engines, or highly complex calculations involving earth science and astronomyw ithout electronic computers? Have we been surrounded by evidence of such ancientadvancements, but not yet, advanced enough ourselves to grasp t he astounding imp li-cations.
Now a breakthrough video from the creators of Atlanti s Risingmagazine takes alook at real evidencelargely ignored by the academic establ ishment which shattersthe orthodox scenario for the dawn of civilization on Earth. Now assembled in a devas-tating one-hour documentary, hosted by Atlanti s RisingEditor and Publisher J. DouglasKenyon, are the comments and evidence of breakthrough researchers such asJohnAnth ony West, Robert Bauval , Richar d Noon e, Coli n Wil son, John Mich ell , Pat-ri ck Flanagan , Chr istoph er Dun n , Zecharia Sitchin , David Hatcher Chil dr ess,Edgar Evans Cayce and others.

Council of Antiquities ofEgypt, has remarkedthat the Great Pyr-amid has not yetyielded all of it s se-crets by any means.
In fact, the innerchambers of theGreat Pyramid ex-hib it many anomalous fea-tures, which have neverbeen adequately ad-dressed or discussed byEgyptologists such asHawass. In his landmarkbook, The Giza Power
Plant(Bear & Co., 1998),engineer Chr is Dunn sug-gests there is evidencethat the Great Pyramidmay have experienced acataclysmic event, an ex-plosion, some time in it sdistant past which endedits role as an active pow erplant, a machine, w hichDunn proposes was itsprimary function. I furtheradvanced Dunns hypoth-esis of an explosion in thepyramid in my book, The
Land of Osir is(Adven-tures Unlimi ted Press,2001) due to investiga-tions I made on site in 1997, 1998 and1999.
My recent trip to Egypt as a pre-senter at the Mysteries of The SpiritConference held at the Mena Housenear the Giza Plateau in January 2003enabled me to further pursue the hy-pothesis and gather even more evi-dence, not only in the Great Pyramid,

sult of an earthquake, butthere is no evidence ofseismic damage in either
the Descending Passage orSubt erranean Chamber, which w ould have beencloser to the epicenter.
The SCA (SupremeCouncil of Anti quities) at-
tempted to repair thesecracks in 1998 but they
are sti ll evident today. The walls of the Kings
Chamber can be seen sep-arating from t he floor and
seem t o bul ge out, sug-
gesting that an explosionor powerful energy
pulse acted uponthem. Chris Dunn isalso the only investi-gator to remark thatthe stone box in t heKings Chamber (er-
roneously referred to as asarcophagus) is today a
chocolate brown color, not the original rose color
of the Aswan granite it i sfrom. The color changecould be due to t remen-
dous heat, w hich could i n-dicate it was chemically al-
tered by an ancientexplosion or fire in thechamber. If a sample of
the box could be ob-tained, it could be tested
to determine if this was so.Other anomalies can befound in the Grand Gal-lery. First discovered by
Chris Dunn in May of 1999when we were in Egypt to-
gether, the upper wall ofthe Grand Gallery, near
the entrance into the
Kings Chamber, is madeof granite, not limestone. The entir e wall show s
deep dark stains that may be the resultof exposure to tremendous heat, per-haps from an explosion.
Along the side ramps of the galleryare several rectangular holes orsockets, evenly spaced throughout theentire distance of the ramps. SomeEgyptologists, such as Mark Lehner andZahi Hawass, have speculated t hat

t has long been held, by meta-physicists, occultists and manytheologians alike, that there is nosuch thing as a mere thought;that a thought is a thing and ex-
erts real power, a view some physicistsare beginning to adopt as well. Thus, inthe esoteric and theological circles wefind endless warnings against un-guarded thoughts, wrongly directedthoughts, and deliberately misused
thoughts. We see one discipline andpractice after another designed to firstcenter the individual, clear the mind, and enable proper focus on the desiredthought or even contemplation of theVoid, a state of no thought in a com-pletely stil led and empty m ind.
At the opposite end of the spectrumwe find the highly agitated, excitedmass mind, a mind anything but cen-tered and at peace. It is this mind, whether naturally occurring or artifi-cially created, which is the specialprovince of politicians, propagandists,ad agencies, PR firms, con artists andmental health professionals of everytype and ethical stripe, not to mentionan array of covert operatives reportingto all sorts of governments, groups, and individuals. Interestingly, it hasalso emerged as an unexpectedlyfruitful area for psi research on masspopulations.
How ? To answer that question, w emust first delve a bit into how psi re-search was conducted long ago and thepath it has followed since then.
Ran dom Num bers an d PsiThe great quest of psi research
repeatable, documented proof of the
phenomenahinges upon fi rst con-structing and conducting an experi-ment so airtight in every single aspectas to exclude all other sources of po-tential error, accidental or otherwise. To this end, there has been an ongoingeffort to develop a truly random gener-ator of events, events which can thenbe tested via rigorous statistical meansfor evidence of psi phenomena fromsomeones attempting to predict oreven influence them.
The early work, under such pio-neers as J.B. Rhine at Duke Universityin the 1920s, was based upon thecalling of manual coin tosses and card
draws, processes later automated andultimately computerized. Such workalso led to the development of Zenercards, the ones with the familiar stars, crosses, and the like, with the specificgoal of giving the subjects trying to tel-epathically send the cards a strong, distinct mental image to convey to theperson acting as the telepathic re-ceiving unit.

and their output is under the mostminute scrutiny at all times. Theoreti-cally, they are immune to human andother forms of intervention when oper-ating properly and not having beentampered with, but several traumaticglobal incidents may have demon-strated en masse what generations ofindividual researchers couldnt do intheir labsthe inf luence of focusedconsciousness upon the real world.
In that influence, properly under-stood, lies the very essence of meta-physics, ritual magick (to distinguish itfrom stage magic ) and prayerusingnothing but thought energy to affectthis earthly reality. Enter researcherDean Radin of former astronaut EdgarMitchells Institute of Noetic Sciences.Petaluma, California and his amazingpaper Exploring Relationships Be-tw een Physical Events and MassHuman Attention: Asking for Whomthe Bell Tolls Jour na l of Scient if ic Ex-ploration, Vol. 16, No. 4, pp. 533-547,Winter 2003, which may well providethe long elusive smoking gun for psiphenomena.
Wh en th e RNGs Wen t TILT!Dean Radins paper was but the
latest in an ongoing series of investiga-tions (see his articles bibliography)
harnessed for the painstaking work in-volved, one of which turned out to beradioactive decay.
Years ago, publi c TVs NOVA aired aprogram on psi in w hich an RNG oper-ated by that decay was used to deter-mine the direction a light in a ring ofunlit lights would go. The decay rate ofthe material was known, but the pre-cise instant of a given decay event wasunknown, and it was this unknown
timing which was used to randomlydrive the light around the ring eitherclockwise or counterclockwise. Thetask of the test subject was to make thelight obey his wil l by causing it t o movein the direction the experimenting sci-entist commanded. Amazingly, the sub-ject proceeded to do just that, marching the light at will in the speci-fied direction for a time before tiring.
Radioactive materials have inherentsafety, legal and administrative draw-backs, so there has recently been a mi-gration to specialized, electromagneti-cally shielded RNGs which utilizeseveral types of exotic events (resistornoise and quantum tunneling) as thetrigger for generating their randomnumbers. There are about fifty (a fewless or more depending upon computermaintenance issues) such devices inuse worldwide for scientific researchunder the aegis of the Internet-basedGlobal Consciousness Project (GCP),

urfing the Net one night lastfall, a few days after publica-tion of my latest AtlantisRising article, Secrets of theCathars (Num. 36, No-
vember/December 2002), my pulsesuddenly quickened. My article con-nected the genocide of the Cathars orPure Ones, the secret teachings ofJesus and the supernatural blue stonesof the Sumerian creator god Enki orE.A. that open stargates and cause en-lightenment. Evidence flashed beforemy eyes that, in addition to Iraq andFrance, E.A. (pronounced aya) alsooperated a blue stone-based stargatemystery school at the Hill of Tara inIreland.
Conor Newman, an archaeology lec-turer at the National University of Ire-land at Galway, announced that he had
located a massive subterranean templeat Tara. Since 1992, Newman has beenworking on the Hill of Tara preparing asurvey of the area for the state-fundedDiscovery Program. He found the Taramonument using an underground radardevice.
What they uncovered eventually atthe crown of the hill was a huge, oval-shaped monument measuring about170 meters at its widest point. Aroundit are 300 postholes measuring two me-

tools: the (S)tone of Destiny, the(S)word of Destiny, the Cup of Des-tiny, and the Staff or Spear of Destiny. These treasures were housed in t he so-called Cave of Treasures, inside theMountain of God, where burns a per-petual f lame.
Tara was considered the Mountainof God, as well as the Illis gateway orIsh-Tar Gate to the etheric Otherworld.Passage tombs dot the surroundingcountryside. The passage tombs ormounds are called Sidhe (pronouncedshe), a pun on the She People orShining Ones (the She-Ning Ones) whoadored Ana, the Great Mother of AllLiving. From the earliest dawn of Irishmythology keltic rites were performedhere.
The Stone of Ana or light at TaraHill is believed to be the same as the
stone of Luz ('light) upon w hich Jacoblaid his head and subsequent ly saw aladder reaching int o heaven.
The mythlogy of the Danaan indi-cates they had the abili ty to control t helight of the sun through the power of amagical blue stone of miraculouspowers. This stone forms the basis forIri sh mythology.

Newman thinks it probably datesfrom 2500 to 2300 B.C. and still had abig physical presence even after theposts were taken out or rott ed.
While the site is home to manyknown archaeological treasures, thislatest discovery reveals that the realtreasure exists underneath the sacredhil l and may soon be revived.
With its revival will come importantnew information about Enki.
Tara is the prehistoric home of themagical Tuatha D Danaan, w ho areconsidered to be direct descendants orreincarnations of the biblical ShiningOnes (Elohim), the creator gods. W.Y.
Evans-Wentz notes that they are de-scribed as a race of majestic appear-ance and marvelous beauty, in formhuman, yet in nature divine. They aredivided into two classes: those whichare shining, and those which are opal-escent and seem lit up by a light w ith inthemselves.
The Sumerians called them Anun-naki (literally NUN, fish, of AKI,light), which explains why the Irishcalled them the Lords of Light or Illi. They were led by E.A. and broughtwith them four treasures or power
