G. David Atkins and Clifton Kroll establish
international trade company Atkins Kroll
and Co., Ltd. in San Francisco, California
and began trade operations between the
US and Australia.
Atkins and Kroll head to Guam to establish Atkins Kroll (Guam) Ltd. The company ini-
tially specializes in the growing trade of copra, or meat of the coconut, in the Pacific
Islands. Soon after, AK builds its first warehouse and store in Hagta, near the cur-
rent site of the Governors office. Over the next decade, the company expands rapidly
to meet local and international trade demands.

I
am proud of what has been achieved by our very special colleagues in Guam,
and it is in recognition of their 100 years of success that I convey the best
wishes from all Inchcape people around the world.
Atkins Kroll was established on Guam in 1914 to coor-
dinate the growth of trade within the Pacific Islands, and
in 1920 it began importing cars to the island. In 1974,
the business and its subsidiaries in the Pacific became
part of the Inchcape Group and the companys original
office in San Francisco was closed in 1981 in order to
focus its operations on the Guam-Micronesia region.
Since then, Atkins Kroll has continued to grow and now
has 260 associates and is market leader.
Inchcape is a truly international business headquar-
tered in London. We operate in 26 markets around the
globe and we represent the worlds premium automo-
tive brands as both a distributor and retailer.
As part of the Inchcape Group, AK Guam shares our goal to create an incredible
customer service for the best car brands in the world. This means that no matter
where you are in the Inchcape world, we always put the customer at the centre
of everything we do, bringing them the very best cars and service in the indus-
try.
AKs customer centric ethos has ensured that they have retained their position
of leading distributor of vehicles in Guam for over 30 years, providing a full range
of motoring services to their valued customers as the exclusive distributor and
retailer for our brand partners Toyota, Lexus, Chevrolet, Scion and ACDelco.
I am delighted that AK has reached this milestone with so many successes and
would like to thank our outstanding colleagues for their dedication to delivering
the highest customer service every day.
I would also like to thank our loyal customers in Guam who clearly enjoy long-
standing relationships with AK. We truly value your custom.

A
s a proud owner of a 2012
Prius C, Bernice Schu-
mann says she reaps a lot
of benefits from her car, the most
notable of which is that she now
treads more lightly on nature. Sav-
ing hundreds of dollars on gas
each year isnt bad either.
Among its numer-
ous benefits, the
biggest perk of owning
a Prius, she says, is the
savings. The hybrid
engine lets
her
drive about 50 miles per gallon,
helping out both her wallet and
the environment.
A loyal Atkins Kroll customer
for many years, Schumann drove
a Toyota Corolla and a RAV4 be-
fore she got her Prius. What keeps
her a loyal AK client, she says, is
the quality of the products and the
great customer service.

looks back on memories of
her father, Catalino Bejado,
she cant help but remember his
love for his apple- green 1976
Chevrolet Caprice Station Wagon.
But if there was anything that Be-
jado treasured more than his luxury
cars, it was his wife of 44 years,
Maria Flores Bejado. One year, for
her birthday, he surprised her with
a silver Cadillac De Ville sedan.
A current AK customer, Hernan-
dez notes the quality service she re-
ceives at the dealership over the
years. She has purchased a number
of cars from Atkins Kroll including
a Toyota Previa, a Toyota Tacoma
Free Runner and a Lexus.
There are some auto dealers
where you feel like they just sell to
make commission, but I like the
overall customer service at AK.
Thats what keeps me going back.

T
he catchy tune is very
much embedded into
the culture of the is-
land, and many resi-
dents know the words by heart.
You can't help but feel the irre-
sistible urge to sing along to the
company's iconic jingle, "Sym-
bols of Trust."
You can hear an en-
tire theater full of peo-
ple singing along to
the tune, or watch it
being performed by
popular local bands at
events throughout the
island.
In 2002, the musical
number was a collab-
oration between AKs
Sammy Sotelo, and
Neal Fox. The music
production company
in California called Patterson,
Walz and Fox produced the jin-
gle. The company was part-
owned by Neal Fox, PWF had
been in business since 1989 and
has written and pro-
duced music for
NBC, CBS, Fox,
VH1, Ford, Toyota,
Coca Cola and hun-
dreds of other clients.
When the company
was approached by
Atkins Kroll to pro-
duce the jingle, Fox
says that AK "wanted
to sell cars, but they
also thought it impor-
tant to make their cus-
tomers feel a part of
the company...to
[make] them feel more like fam-
ily than customers."
They accomplished what they
had set out to do, as locals em-
braced the piece for over a
decade, eventually turning it into
a hit that many on island identi-
fied with.
Just this year, the company ap-
proached Neal Fox to produce
another jingle that would once
again capture the hearts of the
local people, and wanted to keep
some familiarity and connection
to the original.
"The AK people wanted some-
thing totally fresh and different
from their last jingle,
but they still wanted
it to be as catchy and
long-lasting. They
wanted to keep it a
duet and have it be
upbeat and heavy on
drums and rhythm,"
Fox said.
To keep that famil-
iarity with the first
jingle, Fox called one
of the original singers
from the "Symbols of
Trust" song, John
Gebhart, to come onboard for the
second song. Gebhart, a Califor-
nia native, has never been to
Guam but says he hopes to visit
one day.
In the second song,
"Here for Guam,
Here for Life," Geb-
hart joins female vo-
calist April Doyle to
create a similar har-
mony to the first
song.
Locals are starting
to embrace the new
song, but still consid-
er the original a clas-
sic.
While the jingle
has changed, the
message is constant.
AK continues to strive to be a
company that will provide the
customers with quality service
and brands that they can trust.
After 100 years, the company
remains here for Guam, here for
life.

Hafa Adai,
I write to extend my sincerest
congratulations to Atkins Kroll
on its 100th anniversary of busi-
ness on Guam. From its humble
beginnings in 1914, specializing
in coconut products, Atkins Kroll
has grown into one of the most
successful automobile distribu-
torships on Guam and throughout
the region.
As an automobile dealership, Atkins Kroll serves as a trusted
brand and corporate partner of our community. Representing Toy-
ota, Scion, Chevy, Lexus, and ACDelco, the company has built
its reputation on the quality of their products and their commitment
to excellent customer service. In addition to their position as a
corporate brand on Guam, AK continues to strengthen its core
mission of providing customers with dependable products and
service for their automotive needs.
Additionally, AK continues to make a difference in our com-
munity through their commitment to corporate partnership and
service on Guam. Throughout the years, AK has contributed gen-
erously to non-profit organizations, disaster relief efforts on Guam
and throughout the region, and charitable causes. AK has also
sponsored various sports leagues, athletic teams, and community
programs, particularly for our youth, among countless other ac-
tivities and events and I acknowledge their efforts in supporting
and strengthening the place we all call home.
On behalf of the people of Guam, I commend the leadership,
management, and employees of Atkins Kroll for their tireless
work and dedication in reaching this historic milestone. Again, I
extend my congratulations on the 100th anniversary of Atkins
Kroll and offer my best wishes for continued success in the years
to come.
Si Yu' os Ma' ase' .
Hafa Adai! The last century of our island has been nothing
short of glorious. Our ancestors saw the atrocities of war, and re-
built her after liberation. For the last 100 years, the Atkins Kroll
family has been there to share in our tragedy and triumph. Our
island has been blessed by the leadership, service, and commitment
to our people from AK.
The company started from humble beginnings trading coconut
meat in the early 1900s. Today, AK is a leading automotive deal-
ership with Toyota, Lexus and Chevrolet. The history of Atkins
Kroll inspires innovation and creativity, as well as building and
promoting community partnerships. These are the values in our
unique Chamorro culture that shine through in their success.
Our island is better because of many organizations that donate
time and resources, and raise funds for great causes. The Atkins
Kroll family supports numerous sports leagues, the Guam Special
Olympics, and they also lend their support to disaster relief with
the American Red Cross. AKs generosity is never in short supply,
and stands as an example for success and progress for Guam.
As the oldest corporation on Guam, and the leading distributor
of vehicles in the Western Pacific, we can only look forward to
another 100 years of generosity, hard work, and service for our
community. We congratulate the hard working staff and manage-
ment who continue to lead the way every day on a century of
memories, hard work, and progress!
With Our Sincerest Gratitude for Your Commitment to Guam,

Here for Guam. Here for Life.OUR PRODUCTS
A
tkins Krolls 100th anniver-
sary celebration not only
signifies a century since
AK was established as the
very first corporation on Guam, but
it also marks a century of the company
caring for the people of Guam. Pro-
viding stable careers to countless em-
ployees. Helping families grow and
thrive. Making a positive impact in
the lives of others, generation after
generation.
One of the ways AK gives back to
the community is by donating time
and resources to various charitable
groups, including the American Red
Cross of Guam. The Red Cross has
been around on Guam for 96 years,
so we kind of have something in com-
mon, said the Red Cross of Guams
CEO Chita Blaise, reflecting on AKs
anniversary.
For over a decade, AK has part-
nered with the Red Cross. Thats
what is so admirable about AK. They
have been very consistent and very
committed, said Blaise. They have
been a strong supporter and worthy
of receiving a Corporate Hero award.
AK was recognized as the Red
Cross very first Corporate Hero 13
years ago, when then-AK president
Robert Hernandez helped launch the
Red Ball, the Red Cross of Guams
largest annual fundraising event. He
was one of the first chairpersons of
the Red Ball. He grew it, Blaise said.
Since the Red Balls inception, AK
has remained a platinum sponsor. Pro-
ceeds from the Red Ball are used to
accomplish the Red Cross' mission,
which includes giving relief to victims
of disaster, supporting the troops and
their families, training people in first
aid, and offering other health and safe-
ty services.
As a non-profit organization, we
have come to depend on AK, said
Blaise. We rely entirely on the gen-
erosity of the community. It really
means a lot to have a corporate entity
like AK that has been so generous and
committed to our mission.
AK proudly supports the Guam
Chapter of the American Red Cross
annually because of their significance
of help to our local community in
times of disaster, said AKs Market-
ing and Distribution Director Sammy
Sotelo.
They are one of the first on the
scene to help our island residents re-
cover from typhoons, earthquakes,
fires and other natural disasters, Sote-
lo added. We are thankful to have
such an incredible organization to help
our community during those times.
They are a key partner to the island
of Guam.
Caring for our community
AK celebrates its 90th anniversary cele-
bration. To celebrate, the company
sponsors a concert by the Beach Boys.
2004
AK introduces Scion to its cus-
tomers. AK now sells Toyota, Lexus,
Scion, and Chevrolet vehicles.
Later that year, AK is recognized as the best company in Guam to
work for, based on criteria that included employment opportunity,
benefits, environment, salaries, staff training and development.

When I was there,
because we were
doing so many differ-
ent activities, it was
pulsing. A lot of peo-
ple depended on top
management to coach
them and look after
them and I really
thrived on that part.
Coaching and devel-
oping people, helping
them it was fun.

I feel very proud to
be a part of Atkins
Krolls growth. Its a
great company. Ive
seen the people that
are directors and
managers now who
started off selling and
washing cars. Ive
seen that evolution,
Camacho said. I had
a great run. I loved the
journey. I loved the
company and I loved
the people. I miss entertaining the customers, and
I miss my AK familia. I am confident that the com-
pany will be around for another century.
Dan Camacho
President
2009-11
We are poised to
begin the next chap-
ter in AKs incredible
history and while we
proudly reflect on the
past 100 years in
Guam, it is with equal
excitement to look
forward to 100 more
years and continue
AKs legacy to be a
responsible corporate
citizen.
Des Graham
President
2013-present
Not only has AK been a
major contributor to
Guams growth and de-
velopment, but its been
there during good times
and bad times, when
Guam has needed an
entity to come forward
and help. Even during
the war, the company
was providing shelter
and jobs to local peo-
ple. AK has a place in
Guams history.
That is undeniable.

B
orn in Washington State,
Cajetan OBrien Iquina
wanted to reconnect to his
family roots in Guam. So
he took a leap of faith,
packed his bags and headed
across the Pacific Ocean just last year. Little
did Iquina know, that courageous step
would bring him much closer to his heritage
than he could have possibly imagined.
With over 13 years in sales experience
working for AT&T on the U.S. mainland
in California, Washington and Nevada,
Iquina was quickly hired by Atkins Kroll
as a sales associate. As it turns out, he was
following in his grandfather and great-
grandfathers footsteps.
Naturally inquisitive about his family
background, he discovered that his great
grandfather was the first of his family to
work for Atkins Kroll. My great-grand-
father was a businessman who came to
Guam from
Japan in the
early 1900s. He
was looking for
a little adven-
ture and eco-
nomic opportu-
nity during the
peak of the co-
pra trade, ex-
plained Iquina, a
self-professed
history buff.
Adopting the
local culture,
Iquinas great-
grandfather took
the name Joaquin
Inouye as his
own. He didnt
just fall in love with the island of Guam,
though. Indeed, he fell in love with a woman
of Chamorro descent, Ana Salas Santos. The
two soon married and started a family in
Sumay. During that time, Inoue was hired at
Atkins Kroll to work in trading and account-
ing.
Then World War I broke out, and my great-
grandfather had to be repatriated to Japan,
continued Iquina. He couldnt bring his wife
and children with him. He sent letters and
money to his family through the war, but they
stopped coming during World War II. We
arent sure what happened to him, but
we believe he may have been killed
during the war.
Although Inouye sadly
was not able to remain in
Guam and watch his chil-
dren grow up, he nonethe-
less made a lasting mark
on the island and on AK.
Theres actually a picture of
Joaquin Inouye in the Lexus show-
room at AK currently, said Iquina.
In fact, Inouye is pictured in front
of one of AKs original buildings.
He was likely an important part of
helping to build the company from
the ground up in its earliest years.
Inouye also left a legacy in his
offspring, including his daughter Maria In-
ouye.
My grandmother, Maria Inouye, married
Robert OBrien, my grandfather, said Iquina.
OBrien came to Guam in the 1930s as a
young ensign in the Navy. Before World
War II erupted, Robert and Maria OBrien
had four children.
The OBriens lives were turned upside
down in 1941. Following the attack on Pearl
Harbor, Japanese planes headed to Guam to
attack American forces in what is now
known as the Battle of Guam. Robert
OBrien was aboard the Naval
minesweeper the USS Penguin at the
time. The ship was heavily bombed and
strafed and the Japanese captured
OBrien.
Against all odds, Iquinas grandfather
somehow survived the remainder of the
war in a Japanese POW camp in Zentsuji,
Japan. When the war ended and Ameri-
can POWs were released, OBrien head-
ed straight back to Guam to be reunited
with his family. He always considered
Guam his home, said Iquina.
After the war, OBrien retired from
the Navy. He had four more children with
Maria OBrien and they settled back into
the life of a happy family. Robert OBrien
went to work for AK in 1954, following
in the footsteps of his father-in-law,
Joaquin Inouye, whom he never had the
opportunity to meet.
My grandfather started in accounting
at AK, then worked his way up to be the
assistant to the general manager at the
time, said Iquina. OBrien retired from
AK in 1975 after a long and successful
career. Eventually, Robert and Maria
OBrien left their beloved home in Guam
to be with family who had moved to the
U.S. mainland.
Decades later, Robert OBriens grandson
and Joaquin Inouyes great-grandson has
found himself back home, so to speak.
Though he is still new to Guam, Iquina said
he already feels a strong sense of belonging
here, thanks to AK.
I feel honored that my family
was here at AK before me, he said.
Its a blessing and I feel very
lucky.
Employees at AK call it the AK
Familia when they describe the
sense of camaraderie felt by every-
one on the team. Iquinas presence
at AK takes the term to a new level
with the legacy his family has built
at the company.
AK is a great company to work
for, he said. I felt welcomed from
day one. Its a family oriented busi-
ness and environment. Theyre
friends and family to each other. At AK, its
all about helping people.

As the longest-standing corporation onGuam, Atkins Kroll has established it-self as a steadfast leader in the commu-
nity. But its influence is not limited to Guamalone. Indeed, AK exists as a network of outlets
throughout the Northern Marianas and Microne-sia, enabling the company to provide a full range
of automotive services to the entire region. In fact, if you head north to Saipan, youll be
greeted by the same friendly and capable cus-tomer service that AK proudly delivers to itscustomers on Guam. Just visit Atkins Kroll(Saipan). Inc.Up until a few weeks ago, AK Saipan was
known as Microl, but the company has beenpart of the AK family for decades.Microl Corporation was established in 1967
by a group of local Saipan investors, includingMr. David M. Sablan Sr., explained MicrolsPresident and General Manager, Doug Brennan. Before launching Microl in Saipan, Sablan wasa longtime employee at AK.Microl started out as a wholesale and retail
operation, providing a variety of products toSaipan and the neighboring islands. Then, AKsparent company, the Inchcape Group, acquiredMicrol Corporation in 1983. Microl has been aproud member of the AK family since that time.Over the years, Brennan said the company
has been involved in the marketing of automo-biles, hotel and restaurant supplies and winesand spirits. It has also provided insurance andshipping services.
Today, Atkins Kroll Saipan is solely an au-tomotive operation, selling new and used vehi-cles, leasing and renting vehicles, in additionto operating a Toyota parts department and au-tomotive repair facility, including mechanicaland body repairs, said Brennan. We specializein Toyota!Saipan might be smaller than Guam, but AK
Saipan stays incredibly busy. We have over4,400 customers in our database, said Brennan. Our market share has averaged 45.3 percentover the past 10 years.Brennan oversees 32 full-time employees,
many of whom have been with the companyfor most of their professional careers. We have10 employees with over 20 years of service tothe company, he said. Brennan himself willcelebrate 30 years with the companyl in June. For generations on Guam and Saipan, AK has
undoubtedly made a positive impact on the livesof its employees and its many customers. Andwhen it comes to celebrating AKs 100th an-niversary, Brennan said this is, A time to reflecton the amazing changes that have occurred sinceG.H. Atkins and Clifton H. Kroll first startedtrading in the islands!"

My 26 years of employmentwith AK, I've seen many changes, from many departments--ship-ping, insurance, hotel and restau-rant, wines and a Mercedes Benzdealership. Its focus today is asan automotive business. I started out as a GM Technician,
then a Toyota Technician. Follow-ing that, I was Mercedes BenzTechnician. When AK gave up theMercedes Benz franchise, I wentback to my position as a ToyotaTechnician and I still hold it to thisday. At AK, I enjoy the companystability, employee benefits andthe level of professionalismthroughout the company.Eddie Sato, Master Technician,
