During a recentCambria promo-tional visit toPittsburgh, CherylTiegs found sometime to drop bythe Andy WarholMuseum. Duringher stroll throughthe collections, she was surprisedto find twoimages of herselfstaring back ather.

Cheryl, whohad once been aclose friend ofWarhol’s, hadreceived asilkscreen-on-canvas portrait ofherself as a giftfrom him in theearly ’80s, butsays she didn’tknow about theexistence of anyothers. This dupli-cation is notuncommon, explains EricShiner, the

museum’s Milton Sine Curator of Art.“Andy often times would keep at leasttwo other original portraits of his high-profile clients for his archives,” he notes, adding,“Cheryl was really great about[the discovery] and, while she was here, posed for some Polaroid photos stand-ing under his other portraits of her.”

As it turns out, Shiner says he hasrecently made a Cheryl-related discoveryof his own, one that proves the mutualadmiration between the pair. “In ourarchives,” Shiner explains,“we justfound a box of some Cheryl Tiegs-branded cosmetics that she had person-ally signed over to Andy and that he hadmade a point of keeping.”

Cambria recently donated morethan $25,000 in countertops andsurfaces to the Lake County,Ohio YMCA Dream House pro-ject. This fundraising effort, which annually raffles off abrand new home that has beenbuilt and furnished throughcorporate donations, has raisedmore than $3 million for equip-ment and facility enhancementsat Lake County YMCAbranches since 1993. This year’sgrand prize, a 3,400-square-foot,Cape Cod-style house built atopa dramatic cliff overlookingLake Erie, featured panoramicviews from its multiple decks aswell as its Crow’s Nest. Inside, the home was decorated withthe help of nine local interiordesigners and included six

different Cambria colors in thekitchen and bathrooms: Dover,Aragon, Preston, Clyde, Sussex, and SnowdonWhite. Constantly in use bya staff of eightindustry professionaland food experts,Canadian Living’sToronto-based testkitchen is busy fivedays a week, 12months a year, churning outapproximately 700carefully testedrecipes. So,when themagazine’s staffrecently decided toupdate and renovatethe rambling, 5,000-square-foot space, they looked for newworking surfacesthat would be beau-

tiful enough to be photographed hundreds of times, durable enoughto withstand years of abuse, and safe enough for food preparation. Inthe end,Canadian Living decor editor Karen Kirk explains that she andinterior designer Jane Lockhart chose a surface of “gleaming CambriaHamilton, a rich brown with hints of grey and light brown, for akitchen work surface that’s low-maintenance, highly durable and nowthe focal point of this hard-working kitchen.”

A grand openingwas held for the new Club Cambria at the Pittsburghs Pirates’PNC Parkon April 1.The new,members-only luxury club, which is the size of four PNC Park suites, featuresan open floor planwith Cambria countertops, bar tops, tabletops, wall claddingand tile throughout, a private full-service bar, nine flat-screen televisions, privaterestrooms, a coat closet, and a private suite attendant.©
