Uniform over both shoulders Wearing other uniform during the race = DSQ! No temporary tattoos No Bare skin between top and bottoms Decals (both arms, both legs) Slide 11 Race Day Check-in Procedures Athletes Lounge Timing Chip Swim Cap Remember: Helmet (three numbers) Bicycle (one number) Bike check: specificiations, areobars, wheels Leave your bags in lounge Slide 12 Check-in procedures Transition Area Dont leave your helmet fastened in the transition The athlete who misses to comply with this rule will receive a time penalty of 10 seconds in TA1. Running Shoes outside the box, helmet on the bike Spare wheels drop in athletes lounge (need to be checked) If you want to add any equipment to the bike this needs to be approved by the TD at the end of the briefing Slide 13 Pre-start Procedure Athlete Introduction: 10 minutes before start - line-up under the swim exit gantry As introduced jog to the blue carpet Select your position at once and stay behind the line! Athlete blocking more than one place will result DSQ Remember there are two lines: one to line up (behind the number) and one to start (in front of number at the leading edge of the carpet) Slide 14 Start Procedure Athletes in position: The start can be given any time after the TD announces On your mark Air horn blast The race starts Athletes not moving forward at the start will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1. Slide 15 False Start Procedures False start Example 1: Several horn blasts Life guards in front of you Everyone goes back to her/his spot False start Example 2: If someone starts before the horn and everyone else starts with the horn, the athlete who false started will receive a time penalty of 15 seconds in TA1. Start continues as planned During the time penalty athlete can not take any equipment! Slide 16 The Course Swim 1 lap of 750 m Bike 4 laps of 4.9 km (19.6 km) Run 2 laps of 2.5 km (5 km) Slide 17 Swim course Water temperature: 27C Air temperature: 29C Decision on wetsuit one hour before each start Wetsuit allowed / Wetsuit not allowed 1 lap swim 750m clock wise turn at first two buoys Distance to the first turn buoy is 475m.
