What: The Elite Student Athlete Prospect Camp When: July 1st-3rd, 2012 Where: University of California, San Diego Why: To compete against the best student athletes in the country and to gain maximum exposure to the country’s top academic institutions Mission Statement: The mission of the Student Athlete Prospect Camp presented by Hoop Mountain is to provide student athletes with a venue to showcase their basketball talents. Our goal is to provide the very best student athletes from around the globe an opportunity to be seen by the best academic institutions in the country. This relationship will reward special student athletes for their academic and athletic abilities and achievements. 2012 Elite Student Athlete Prospect Camp 2012 Elite Student Athlete Prospect Camp Maximum Exposure • Last year the Elite Student Athlete Prospect Camp had over 50 college coaches and scouts in attendance. • The camp is recruited by some of the top academic/athletic schools in the country. • Scouting report representatives from Scout.com, the National Prep School and High School Scouting Report, West Coast Prep Report have all been in attendance. • President of Hoop Mountain, Steven Gibbs serves on the committee for the McDonald’s All American Game and nominates players for the Hoop Mountain Prime Time All Star Game The Educational and Informational Advantage at the Elite Student Athlete Prospect Camp • Information sessions on SAT and ACT preparation • Information sessions on how to become a recruitable athlete at top academic universities • Information session on what college coaches look for in student athletes • Current college players will talk about how to balance athletic and academic responsibilities at elite schools • The expert staff will help players understand how to find the right athletic/academic fit in college Admission for the Elite Student Athlete Prospect Camp Criteria: In order to be considered for the Elite Student Athlete Prospect Camp presented by Hoop Mountain a player needs a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 (un-weighted) and an SAT score (Math/Critical Thinking) of 1000 or an ACT score of 21 or higher. Cost: $455 per player (registrations after May 1 st will be $485).
