100% Pure are the first and only cosmetics coloured from antioxidant rich fruit and

vegetable pigments. Whilst other cosmetics are coloured with either synthetic dyes

or minerals, only 100% Pure cosmetics are coloured with fruit and vegetable pig-

ments (patents pending). All the antioxidants and vitamins are in the pigments, so

you will be applying all the healthy nutrients of the fruits directly on to your skin. In

addition all products are PBA & Phalate free packaged and labels are printed using

bio-degradable soya ink.

Pacifica Perfume products are made without: animal testing,

animal bi-products, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, propylene

glycol, benzene, GMOs, mineral oil, peanut oil and triclosan.

All Pacifica products are cruelty-free.

‘The Word on Dirty Words: These may be

words of varying length, but they're all four-

letter words to us. These are "dirty" words

you'll never find in our products. They're

chemically and syntheticy and thus patheticy. We avoid them at all cost. Dirty words include: Ammonia,

Animal Tallow (not synthetic, but we choose to use vegetable oils in our soap), BHA (butylated hydrox-

yanisole), BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene), ceteareth, cocamidopropyl betaine, dimethicone, dea

(diethanolamine) ingredients, imidazalidol urea, laureth family, mineral oil, parabens-petro-chemicals,

paraffin wax, petroleum.’

‘Maroma products are from Auroville, which is

located in Tamil Nadu, India and is an Internation-

al project dedicated to human unity and recognised

by UNESCO for its achievements. Once a barren

plateau, the region of Auroville has been transformed into a lush green area in which a city is progres-

sively taking shape. Over the past 40 years, Auroville has grown into an expanding community of some

80 settlements inhabited by about 1,800 people. Maroma returns 40% of its profits to the communi-

ty.’

'Ingredients always come from sustainable sources. Where possible we buy

from local businesses. When making our soaps we use very little energy, as they

are handmade. No soap is wasted in the process as we use the 'odd shapes' as

samples or remould them into smaller balls for our gift sets. Never used are

animal ingredients, phthalates, GM ingredients, petroleum derivatives, chemical-

ly derived active ingredients, mineral oil, artificial fragrances, sodium laureth

sulphate.'

We select brands that we feel are leading the way and can be used to showcase to the

world, how green and ethical a company can be. We look at a range of factors: what is

the product made of, its packaging, the labour used to make the products, its carbon

footprint etc. We hope individuals, groups, associations and businesses can learn from

these companies and start to apply similar principles, whether in their day to day lives,

supporting change or how to operate as a business.
