Summer Learning ProgramJune 6 - July 23, 2016

Since 1911, Johnson County Public Library has worked toward improving the quality of life for all citizens of Johnson County, Indiana.

For more than one hundred years JCPL has provided you with courteous, knowledgeable and efficient service, and access to a broad diversity of information through resources and programs. Today we offer four branches, a Library Services Center and a virtual branch.

From book clubs and family fun days, to canning classes and storytime, your library has a full schedule of engaging programs year-round.

The programs listed in this guide are sponsored by Friends of Johnson County Public Library

Prom season is an exciting time for teens in high school. However, the fancy dresses, tuxes, corsages, dinners and transportation costs of the prom experience start to add up quickly.

Project Prom provides free formal wear to teens who cannot afford to buy their dress or tux for prom.

One teen shared that both her parents had health problems in the last year and because of medical bills, they were financially unable to buy her a dress this year. She was planning to go shopping after getting her paycheck for the week but stopped by and found the perfect dress.

Stories like this one really highlight what JCPL’s Project Prom is all about and we are excited that the program could provide her with a dress and her date with a suit coat.

This year, Project Prom had a record attendance with 186 teens stopping by the Clark Pleasant Branch or Trafalgar Branch to browse our selection of dresses, tuxes, shoes and accessories. 90 teens were able to renew their style and take home a dress or tux.
