elegant upholstery, brocades and marble bathrooms. Each room is unique : views of St. Mark’s Basin and the

Lagoon are on one side, the rooftops and bell towers of Venice ‘s historic center on the other.

Each space at the LONDRA PALACE was designed to instill emotions and a sense of wellbeing in guests.

The bright renovated sitting rooms on the ground fl oor dialogue with the outside through the transparency

of the glass which bears the memory of Petr Il’lc Tchaikovsky ‘s stay at the Hotel. The veranda on the Riva

degli Schiavoni is an ideal place to sip one of the delightful cocktail prepared by the barmen, enjoy lunch or

dinner, have tea or simply relax.

• THE ART OF HOSPITALITY •

A stay in room 106 off ers a taste of history. Here, in December 1877, the Russian composer Petr Il’lc Tchaiko-

vsky wrote the fi rst three movements of Symphony n. 4 originally entitled “Do Leoni”. Some other famous

guests of the hotel include Gabriele D’Annunzio, who stayed here in 1877 and attended the unveiling of the

monument in front of the Hotel, built in honor of King Vittorio Emanuele II, the writers Jorge Luis Borges, to

whom the new suite has been dedicated and Iosif Brodsij, recipient of the Nobel Prize for Literature.

• DINING WITH CLASS •

The DO LEONI Restaurant is the pride of the HOTEL LONDRA PALACE. The Chef, Loris Indri, skillfully

espouses Venetian traditions with the most innovative and traditional tastes, selecting local products for

the range of seafood and meat specialists featured in the menu. His culinary art is enhanced by the elegance

of the indoor dining room, whose décor includes artistic crystal, original paintings and antiques and the

veranda on the Riva degli Schiavoni . The DO LEONI Restaurant welcomes outside guests and also hosts

private banquets for a maximum number of 50 either the indoor or outdoor dining area.

• THE HISTORY OF A LEGEND •

The name “LONDRA PALACE” goes back to the 1970s. Originally, the hotel was made up of two separate ho-

tels: the Hotel Angleterre & Pension, later called Londres, dating back to 1853 and the Beau Rivage, built in

1865. The two building were joined together in 1900. The roof of the older building was raised in the 1950’s,

renovations carried out at the turn of the new century and the latest redesign of the space on the street level

give the hotel its current aspect.
