At the Library West Nyack Free Library
Dear Library Patrons,
We were so fortunate to have had our most
successful summer to date with our highest number
of Summer Reading participants ever. Over 200
children, 40 teens and almost 90 adults participated
in our summer festivities. Thank you for making
our summer a great success! A special thanks to our
Friends Group, library volunteers, and all of the
local businesses and organizations that provided us
with programs, prizes and support.
Just in time for Fall we are very excited to offer a
streaming digital video player (Roku) for checkout
to our cardholders. We've preloaded a number of
channels for you to enjoy in the privacy of your
own home. See our website for more information:
www.westnyacklib.org. We've also recently
created a "What's New" section on the site to
show you our hottest and latest additions to the
collection. Let us know what you think.
Eugenia Schatoff, Director
West Nyack Free Library
Autumn 2014
Congratulations to all our Summer Readers!
As the Children's Summer Reading Program comes
to a close we want to congratulate all 206 of our
participants! Thank you for tracking your reading,
attending our programs and coming to the library
this summer.
Special thanks to the following groups for supporting
their local community library:
Friends of the West Nyack Library
Volunteers of the West Nyack Library
Mad Science of the Mid-Hudson
New City Fish and Game Club
The Cone Zone in West Nyack
Domino's Pizza in New City
A Note from the Circulation Desk:
Our First Annual Easy Breezy Summer Reading
Program for Adults was lots of fun! We had
87 patrons registered in the program. After
completing each book that they read they filled
out a Star Rating Sheet which was put in a jar at
the Circulation Desk for our prize drawing. We
had 3 winners! Gift cards were awarded to 2
readers for Target and to 1 reader for Amazon.
All of our readers were enthusiastic to share their
reading experiences with our staff. A great chance
for interesting conversation and some prizes too.
