Goodbyes!
In January we will be welcoming back Mrs Buer from her maternity leave to Class Flamingo. Mrs Buer will be resuming teaching the class on Mondays and Tuesdays working alongside Mrs McIntosh and with Mrs Clarke. Sadly this means that yesterday we said goodbye to Mrs Caples who has covered the class for the past year. Prior to that, she stepped in to teach Class Goldfinch during Miss Johnston’s absence. In assembly the children presented her with cards and gifts. We would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Caples for all she has done for Danbury Park School and we wish her the very best for the future.
This is the last newsletter of this term and we would like to wish
you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Please note the first newsletter of the Spring Term will be published on Friday 13th January.

Christmas Performances Thank you for all the compliments for the school plays this year. As ever the children did a fantastic job of retelling the Nativity with a twist.
EYFS and KS1
The infant children took the theme of a long journey and the family’s trials and tribulations along the way. The children’s enjoyment at performing on stage to an audience was obvious with well-polished songs and delightful dances.

Christmas Plays
KS2
Each junior class took a section of the Nativity story sometimes adding a modern twist. The children included many comic as well as thought provoking moments. The contributions from the school choir and the orchestra were excellent as was the final whole key stage rendition of Silent Night.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the teachers and staff for working so hard to put together both productions and to parents for supporting the children at this busy time of year.
Sorry!
Unfortunately there was a bit of a mix-up with our figures last week when we announced the winner of our Class Christmas Enterprise Competition. The winner by a mile was Class Flamingo who made a profit of £105.94. We are sorry for the error but incredibly impressed by Class Flamingo’s entrepreneurial flair. Well Done, Class Flamingo!

Christmas Lunch
Yesterday we all enjoyed a special Christmas dinner together. The staff helped our catering team serve roast turkey, chipolatas, stuffing, roast potatoes with a variety of vegetables followed by festive biscuits or ice-cream. The children all had crackers and shared jokes and novelties. We had a great time and the food was delicious!
A big thank you to Mrs Hind, Mrs Wilkinson, Mrs Everard, Mrs Smith and Mrs Whitbread who all worked so hard preparing and cooking the feast and to our team of Midday Assistants who organised the hall, looked after the children and ensured the lunch ran smoothly.
