Inmarsat Assured Access for AviationGuaranteed grade of service at a known priceInmarsat Assured Access provides a priority access and guaranteed, uncontested connectivity to the Inmarsat global network for your SwiftBroadband services.

With an Assured Access lease arrangement, your communications will be delivered at a guaranteed quality and a known cost – providing a highly reliable, secure communications link to support a range of applications in the air, from tactical voice through to the rigorous demands of C4ISR.

Customer Challenge:Air Forces operating in an information dense environment often have to contend with degradation of speed and efficiency due to heavily loaded networks.

Requirement:There is an operational demand for a dependable, fixed grade of service that cannot be achieved when the shared nature of the communications ‘pipe’ impacts on the end user experience. A solution is required that will enable modern Air Forces to plan for both resource efficiency and budgets.

Solution:Assured Access grants a pre-defined group of mobile users uncontended access to the SwiftBroadband service and Inmarsat-4 network resource. When connected to an Assured Access plan, SIMs are always able to connect to Inmarsat’s network and will achieve a defined grade of service, even when the network is heavily loaded. Assured Access can be provided for single users or for multiple SIMs.

Case StudyTwo modern day premier Air Forces who have airborne ISR requirements in specific regions of interest have choosen Assured Access as their preferred airtime model for SwiftBroadband.

By choosing Assured Access, these Air Forces have dedicated bandwidth available in pre-defined groups of spot beams in the region of interest. Each Air Force is able to self-select its active SIMs in the Assured Access Group thus giving the user the ability to decide in real time, the network priority of particular aircraft or functions. Additionally each Air Force is able to smooth its financial profile and predict costs very accurately.
