Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology

The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a continuing full-time Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology. The appointee will contribute to undergraduate teaching in Psychology, our post graduate training programme in Clinical Psychology and the leadership of the School as a whole. On appointment, the successful applicant will also be Director of the professional training programme for an initial period of three years.

The School of Psychology is currently in a rebuilding phase. The School offers a broad undergraduate education in Psychology, with a range of specialised programmes at graduate level, including Masters and PhD degrees and several programmes that lead to registration as a professional psychologist.

Applications are invited from people with expertise in abnormal and clinical psychology. Responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining a productive research programme, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate papers (courses) related to clinical psychology, supervising postgraduate student research, and contributing to the administrative and professional leadership of the clinical degree programme.

Requirements include a research-based PhD in Psychology, NZ registration or eligibility for NZ registration as a clinical psychologist, experience in undergraduate teaching and graduate supervision, and a strong record of research publications.

The current salary range for Associate Professors is NZ$122,280 to $135,018 per year dependent on qualifications and experience. Note - the rank of Associate Professor in the New Zealand university system is equivalent to the rank of Professor in the North American and some other systems.
