• In October 2008, Ebola Reston virus (REBOV) infection was

confirmed for the first time in pigs in the Philippines.

• It was first discovered in imported monkeys from the

Philippines in primate facilities in the US.

• The virus has not yet detected in bats, but bats are known as

reservoir of other filoviruses.
