SUGGESTED SLIDE
…to life sentence
Over 1,000 Motor Neuron Disease casesin Taiwan.
About 3,000 new Spinal Cord Injuriesevery year.
About 1,500 cases of Muscular Dystrophyin Taiwan.
About 45,000 cases of Cerebral Palsy in Taiwan.
A REAL PROBLEM
SUGGESTED SLIDE
…to life sentence
Sometimes only 28,000 NT can provide a paralysed person with access to the internet.
In just 2 hours, a mentally challenged child can learn the basics of cause/effect with a specialswitch and adapted toy.
Less than 15,000NT can often provide a child with a communication aid making the difference betweensocial exclusion and inclusion.
..but it can take from 4 to 60 hours of assessment, fitting, training and follow up from start to end.
BUT WITH A REAL SOLUTION
New Spinal Cord Injuries every year,
That’s about 60 a week
Or about 8 a day.
Think about it …..
3000T H E C H A L L E N G E
Every year we assess at least 80
disabled cases all over Taiwan with
our outreach program.
SUGGESTED SLIDE
our current capacity is
80T H E C H A L L E N G E
of new cases in Taiwan each year.

What we hear..“Just because I cant move doesn’t’ mean I want to lie in bad all day looking at the ceiling”“Just because I cant speak
doesn’t mean I dont have anything to say”
“I cant hold a pen but I stillwant to learn”
“We should measure our society’s level of civilisation not just with its economic indicators but also by how much it
takes care of its weakest members”
