Assignment title Assignment1:Principlesofwebserverscripting

The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate that you know the principles of web server scripting.

Scenario Scenario: You are working in a web design company and have been asked to provide training material for new employees. The company specialises in dynamic web sites that link to databases. You have to explain the underlying principles of the work and also produce examples of working code to illustrate common tasks. You must also show how code is tested and documented.

Task 1

Prepare a slide presentation which explains (with examples) how web server scripting works and why it is used. Give three examples of the scripting languages in common use and say what their main features are. You should not have more than 10 slides (not including title slide). Your slides must include the briefing notes.

This provides evidence for [P1]

Task 2

Prepare a slide presentation to compare web server scripting and client side scripting. Make sure you cover the advantages and disadvantages of both and explain (with examples) where each technique is used. You should not have more than 6 slides (title slide not included). You must include your briefing notes.

This provides evidence for [M1]

Task 3

Finally, add slides which analyse the advantages of combining both client side and server side scripting to produce a user friendly application with good performance. You should not add more than 8 slides (again ignore title slide). You must include your briefing notes.

This provides evidence for [D1]
