ASSIGNMENT 7: NARRATIVE ANALYSIS IN A SCENE
PART 1Overall Narrative
In 5 simple bullet points, write down the story (synopsis) of the film

Story:• Boy goes on the Indian
version of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” to reunite with his childhood friend.
• Gets arrested after he was accused of cheating.
• His experiences in life helps on answering the questions.

Jamal was suspected of cheating and is detained and interrogated
Jamal tells, through flashbacks, the incidents in life that help answers the questions
Jamal had a difficult childhood, his mother killed in front of him in a raid.
Jamal and his brother Salim supported each other.
He met a girl, Latika whom he fell in love with, but lost. He only entered the game show because she might be watching it, in hoping of being reunited with her.
Jamal correctly answers each of the questions.Despite being given the wrong answer by the host.
Salim tell Latika to run away, so she did with his car keys and phone.
Jamal is on his final question, he calls his brother but Salim doesn’t pick up.
Latika realises that Jamal was calling Salim so she runs to answer it.
Jamal answers the question right, so he wins the games show and he is also reunited with Latika.

Yes, the clip falls into a conventional narrative structure because there is no flash backs and is clear and straight forward on what happens to the main characters.• Jamal is asked the final question
