Purpose:It is to givecredits and set characters and the setting.

A reasonably good length which keeps it short andsweet.

It is neat, clear and easy to read

It gives the sense of a cynical darkness which stands out to its contrasting colour.

It shows formality and seriousness which emphasises the film being based on true events.

Perhaps to catch the attention of audiences from all angles and it intrigues audiences more than rather seeing the text in the same place over and over again.

Directed by

In this title sequence the director appears twice (first credit and the 19th credit) It sets a somewhat reminder to audiences of the director. Neither one lose any significance ,but in fact gains significance. This director is well known in making horror movies such as Saw and audiences who are familiar with the genre of Horror will perhaps know who he is. It may indicate that the director being shown twice in the beginning and towards the end prepares audiences to the well known director and the work he has created.

Title of Film (20)

The title appears at the end of the title sequence which builds up a climax of tension amongst audiences. The black and white throughout creates a dark atmosphere to which alludes to the film being a horror as black is a colour which alludes to death. The title is isolated in the middle of the frame which supports the isolation of the house portrayed behind it which may emphasise its significance.
