Assigning Descriptive Elements

Concept

You can specify a list of item catalog descriptive elements for each model and option class bills

only. Values are assigned to catalog descriptive elements when a new configuration item is

created. The descriptive element value of the chosen option is assigned for each descriptive

element.

You must assign the item to a catalog group for model bills.

A model bill of material defines the list of options and option classes you can choose in Oracle

Order Management to order a configuration. A model bill also specifies mandatory components

or included items that are required for each configuration of that model. You do not order or buildthe model itself, you order and build configurations of the model. A model bill can be either

assemble-to-order or pick-to-order.

In this topic, you will assign descriptive elements.
