TECHNOLGY SELECTION
Reuse - Health risks, Technology options available, Foot print to meet the
site conditions, Environmental impact, phasing, Life cycle costs and
Sustainability merits
Old assets taken over by Haya - conventional technology with sand
filtrations
Helminthes Ova which should be less than 1 / Litre.
Biological membrane filtration process using Flat sheet membranes
with 0.4 micron pore size.

Treated effluent consistency in the quality of all the parameters includingViable Nematode Ova (reported values always < 1) in spite of shock loads &
high diurnal variations.
Evident from the 7 day moving average values of TE quality exceeds thequality requirements of national standards make it the highest quality to suit
the indirect reuse application - step away to achieve potable water quality
though advanced polishing treatment.
Biological sludge produced in the plant is dewatered to the centralizedcomposting plant to produce Biosolids through Open Windrow Technology
meeting US EPA Class A for use as natural organic fertilizers

Currently, Al Ansab Sewage Treatment Plant - largest flat sheet membranes sewagetreatment plant Commissioned and Operated.
The plant is producing an effluent quality that exceeds the national standards and Title 22 ofUS standards for indirect reuse.
Haya Water is also continuing its research and evaluations in developing alternate treatment
options inline with Technology advancements.
Haya Water progressing in the study of various options along with Sultan Qaboos Universityteam for maximizing TE utilization through Agricultural reuse, Aquifer recharge, District
Cooling, etc. through involvement of various Government bodies to achieve a common
objective of water conservation.
Haya waters ambitious aim is to maximize water reuse to support conservation of potablewater considering Treated Effluent as alternative water resources for indirect reuse & to
reduce carbon footprint to achieve the nation objectives for sustainable development.
