Taylor, Niamh Mitton, Rebecca Cations, Sophie Hughes, Alexi Hunter and Emerson Squires.
Regional Athletics Carnival
What a wet miserable day it was for our Regional Athletics Carnival in Dubbo last
Friday. Well done to all our students that competed in tough conditions and thank you to
the parents that had to drive in the weather and sit around in it all day. We had some fantastic results
and a number of students just missed gaining state selection. Congratulations to Will Johnson who
placed 3rd in the 800m and will now compete at the NSW PSSA State Carnival early next term.
Rugby League Clinic
Years 3 and 4 are involved in a Rugby League Clinic from 1.50- 3.00pm each Tuesday
afternoon for the next 3 weeks. Students please bring appropriate gear for this.
This Friday 9th September, we will be holding our Book Fair in the Library which will be run by Mrs Scott and Mrs Eppelstun. You can come and buy books before school, at morning tea or lunch time. Students will be able to view the
books for sale all week. The Library will be closed for

Education Week
We are celebrating Education week this Friday 9th September.
We will have an early morning Tea at 10.30am.
A Special Assembly at 11.00 am in the hall.
We will then have a Tabloid, which our year 6 students, will run.
Lunch will be at 1pm
Then we might continue with the tabloid if we are not finished. So please come along for a great day.
Toy Fundraiser Each family should have received their Chalk and Parent Direct catalogues. This is a fundraiser for the
school and we receive 20% of the total value of the orders, which enables us to purchase much needed
educational materials. Your support will be appreciated.
Thank you for all of your entries for our Art competition. Artworks will be displayed during
Education Week and winners will be announced this Friday 9th September.
This year the theme of Book Week is “Australia: Story
Country” and as part of our celebration we will again
be hosting a book parade. The day will be mufti and
students are asked to dress as a character from
their favourite book to help promote reading and
celebrate the positive effect of books.
Prizes will be awarded to each stage for the different
tasks.
The parade will take place at 12pm under the COLA
on Friday 16th September. Students will assemble in
class groups to watch the parade and will participate
as a class. You are welcome, and encouraged, to
attend and stay for the combined assembly following
straight after. Prizes will be awarded to the best
dressed in each class with each participant receiving
a school award.

Grenfell Show Thanks to everyone that helped out with the Grenfell Show on the weekend. It was a shame that the
weather was not good but as usual Grenfell Public School shone. Our Marimba group organised by
Miss Faulkner were outstanding and I received many positive comments. The hangers looked
magnificent and the hall would have looked empty without them. Congratulations to all the students and teachers who put the time and effort into them. 5/6J won the champion hanger. Well done guys.
Congratulations to all the students that won awards with handwriting, art and other sections. Our school display
looked fantastic. Thanks to Mrs Schneider, Miss Forfar, Mr Gorman and Lorene Hazell for setting this up.
The last day of term which is Friday 23rd September, we will be
