JUST THE FACTS

Assassination City Roller Derby is Dallas County’s only all-female flat track roller derby league. Named for the Dallas connection to the Kennedy assassination conspiracy, Assassination City Roller Derby was established as a grassroots movement in 2005. It is a DIY, skater-owned and operated limited liability cor-poration (LLC). We are one of 212 leagues that are full members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), roller derby’s governing body.

With more than 100 skaters representing four home teams, a recreation league, and two all-star traveling teams that compete nationally, Assassination City Roller Derby has established itself in the Dallas community and in the world of roller derby. All of our teams are conspiracy themed, which sets our brand apart from mainstream sports; we have an edgy twist of hometown originality and athleticism which appeals to a wide market.

Our research and growing ticket sales indicate that Dallas supports a sport that appeals to the diversity of its residents. ACRD has been featured in The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Magazine, UniVision, D Magazine, Channel 8 WFAA, Dallas Observer, Channel 11 KXTA and Hello Dallas as well as several other local docu-mentaries and publications. Our teams participate in competitive, athletic and entertaining bouts throughout the year. Activities continue during the off-season, when ACRD members participate in public appearances, charitable activities and other promotional events.

Our 2014 home season will run from February through July at Dad’s Broadway Skateland. We produce six full production bouts including our championship. Our travel teams each compete in a minimum of four inter-league bouts throughout the year. And, our Internal Affairs Recreational League started producing smaller scale bouts in 2013, giving sponsors more exposure opportunities than ever before!
