Thank you to everyone who came out to our last Technical Meeting in May. It was a great turn-out celebrating several long time members, our past president Steve Ziga, and our outstanding member of the year Don Nowicke.
Another thank you goes out to all that recently attended our Flying Fish Brewery Tour on June 18th. We had a very large turnout. I guess all of you
guys like craft beer J Everyone had a great time, and the tour was very informative.

TECHNICAL CORNER
Hello Everyone:
Wow what a wet summer, now that I have had time to reflect on the past year with ASPE and all the great events I have a few comments.
We have a great group of mem-bers on the Board of Directors and have added to our Board of
Governors as well. You may not be aware of the process for being voted into the role of Governor but one prerequisite is being a
past President of the Philadelphia Chapter, and working very hard for many years to maintain our Chapter’s goals and accomplishments. Jerry Oflazion and Steve Ziga are our new governor mem-bers. Thank you for such dedication and professional approach in running our chapter.
As we look to the future we realize the importance of bringing people into the fold of the Board’s many positions and committees. I for one started when Ernie Rink asked me to attend a meeting and I was
overwhelmed with the amount of work we needed to accomplish. Many of you knew Joseph Smaul, Joe was so thrilled to be voted in as our President but tragedy struck our chapter and Joe passed suddenly having never served a full term as our President. I was amazed at how the Board members recovered and our chapter kept moving forward.
As we approach the coming year we see a great need to continue bringing members into our Board to serve on sub committees and learn what it takes to maintain our high level of programs, education and dedication to you our members. Marc Pisarek and Mitch Weiss joined us serving on committees this past year and we thank you for stepping up to the plate.
In closing I would like to invite those of you who feel the desire to make a difference, to accomplish something you always had a desire to do or simply inspire someone else by following in my footsteps, join our Board serve on one of many committees and feel the pride and sense of accomplishment working to make our Philadelphia chapter one of the best in the country.
