The 2017 Edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code is coming up soon and we are expecting to approve changes during our November ASME Code Week. Pricing for the 2017 ASME BPVC is being made available now and our goal is to have the 2017 edition available mid-summer of 2017. Code users will continue to have the option to purchase either the approved hardcopy version or an electronic subscription from a licensed reseller, such as IHS Markit.

We appreciate IHS Markit’s strict adherence to our copyright rules; and ask that you reinforce in your messaging that electronic versions of the ASME BPVC are only available by online subscription from authorized companies, like yourselves. One-off retail purchases of the ASME BPVC in PDF or any other electronic format is not authorized by any company. The online IHS BPVC Advantage HTML version of the Code is unique to IHS Markit and remains available to those customers who wish to complement their print or electronic subscription with the dynamically linked, interactive solution.

Feedback and adoption of the two-year revision cycle continues to be very positive. Elimination of Addenda and reduction in the number of changes has made it easier and more cost-effective for Certificate Holders to stay in compliance. Regulatory compliance with the Code is mandatory within 6 months of its release. In order for a Certificate Holder to be in compliance, they must have the most recent edition of the Code onsite. To ensure compliance, this also means that all Certificate Holders should now have a copy of the 2015 ASME BPVC.

The Errata, Interpretations and Code Cases continue to be updated regularly. In between new releases of the Code, ASME will continue to make these available to your customers as they are issued as part of their online subscriptions or via hardcopy purchase.
