Domestic Violence in NYCThere were 76 family related homicides in

2012. 75% of these cases had no known prior police contact. 84% of these cases had no current order of protection.

Police responded to 263,207 domestic violence incidents in 2012; this averages to over 720 incidents per day.

In 2012, the City’s Domestic Violence Hotline advocates answered 108,131 calls, averaging more than 290 calls per day.

Resources for Chinese DV Survivors

New York City Family Justice Centers

There are 4 Family Justice Centers in NYC. They provide criminal justice, civil legal, and social services all in one location for survivors of domestic violence and sex trafficking. Since 2005, the FJCs have assisted more than 97,000 clients in their own language.

Garden of Hope has staff in Queens Family Justice Center which is located at 126-02 82nd Avenue, Kew Gardens, NY 11415.
