About MeBorn and raised in Iowa, I studied journalism and communication studies at The University of Iowa in Iowa City, which taught me diverse skills in journalism, public relations, marketing, publication design, and mass communications.
After graduating in 2009 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Communication Studies, I relocated back to my home town of Fort Dodge to begin a career as the Director of Communications for the Fort Dodge Community School District.
Currently serving in this position, I have gained a range of experience, including marketing, Web development, publication design, and experience in internal and external communications.
My responsibilities are diverse as I am the only communications specialist among the District.
Time management, attention to detail, and my ability to partner with others are critical skills as I work to implement marketing campaigns and regulate communication among community members and approximately 600 staff members.
I am a great believer in continually developing my own skills and experiences. I am always eager to learn, and I enjoy working with others to further my knowledge. I describe myself as creative, friendly, driven, and personable.
