For over a decade the program has successfully provided research experience and mentorship to early-career medical students who have been able to use that knowledge and support to advance their careers. American Society of Hematology Helping hematologists conquer blood diseases worldwide ASH | Awards About the Program Through MMSAP, medical students who are interested in the field of hematology complete an eight- to 12-week research experience in the lab of an ASH member. This program is open to minority medical students from the United States or Canada who are enrolled in a DO, MD, or MD/PhD program. There is no fee to apply. Program benefits: • A stipend of $5,000 for a research project • An allowance of $2,000 for travel to the ASH annual meeting • Complimentary online subscriptions to Blood and The Hematologist that continue through medical school and residency • The guidance of a research and a career-development mentor Important Deadlines: Applications are due March 10, 2015. If you would like to be matched with a research mentor, submit a request by January 2, 2015.
