I am going to be speaking about our ISIS Defectors Interview Project at www.ICSVE.org and how we must do battle with ISIS online as they have managed to recruit 38,000 foreign fighters from 100 countries. The best way to do this is using insider voices. In our project we have managed to interview 38 ISIS defectors from Syria, Balkans and Western Europe, most on video and now we are cutting their videos into small clips and internet memes to load back onto the internet to try to break the ISIS brand.Anne Speckhard, Director, Int. Center for Study of Violent Extremism

The security environment in South East Asia, like many parts of the world today, is affected by the terrorism threat as well. Moreover, this threat is on the increasing trend in the region. This conference is therefore not only timely but inevitable. It will enable the relevant stakeholders to enhance their awareness of this threat and the technologies available to combat it. Moreover, it even allows for strategies and tactics to be developed by the stakeholders to contend with this menacing threat.Mej Jen (rtd) Dato’ Ansar Ali a/l Majeth, IACSP SEA Adviser, Royal Malaysian Air Force

The IACSP ASEAN Security Symposium and Awards is timely as DAESH and other groups threaten the stability of the region. The event will highlight trends in educational and operational expertise in responding and addressing the threats of Daesh and other terrorist groups within Southeast Asia.Andrin Raj, IACSP, Southeast Asia Regional Centre, SEA Regional Director
