AquaTT (IE) www.aquatt.ie AquaTT is a leader in scientific knowledge transfer and dissemination and partners with research consortia to design projects that make a difference. It devises best practice work packages related to dissemination, communication and knowledge transfer. Traditionally AquaTT has worked with the marine and aquaculture research sectors, but recently has become involved in projects in the areas of environment, health, food and sustainable development.

Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance Coordination and Support Action (AORA-CSA) www.atlanticresource.org AORA-CSA is tasked with supporting the implementation of the Galway Statement signed on 24/05/2013. It provides scientific, technical and logistical support to the European Commission in developing and implementing trans-Atlantic marine research cooperation between the EU, the USA and Canada. AORA-CSA focuses on: Implementing the Galway Statement and supporting the Atlantic

Ocean Cooperation. Improving the international cooperation framework of marine

research programmes - creating the basis for the development of future large-scale joint international marine research programmes.

Establishing a long term knowledge sharing platform for easy access to available information and data holding international research significance for Ocean Management.

Atlantic Transnational Network (ATN) – Réseau Transnational Atlantique (RTA) www.rta-atn.eu ATN is a platform for cooperation of civil society in the Atlantic Area. It serves as a means for organised civil society to express its concerns and provides its members with a framework in which to reflect and work together on matters of common interest to the Atlantic area and its regions which are brought before European, national and regional authorities. ATN is made up of the Conseils Économiques, Sociaux et Environnementaux, (CESER) of Normandie, Bretagne, Pays de la Loire, Centre Val de Loire, Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes in France, the Consejos Económicos y Sociales of the Basque Country, Asturias, Galicia, Andalusia and the Canary Islands from Spain and the Forum Oceano from Portugal.

Campus de Excelencia Internacional del Mar (CEI·MAR) (FR) www.campusdelmar.com The Campus of International Excellence of the Sea CEI·MAR is a strategic aggregation, born in 2012, grouping together Universities, Research Institutes and Social and Economic Agents with the sea in common, from the Andalucía, Southern Portugal and Northern Morocco regions. Commissioners of Irish Lights (IE) www.irishlights.ie Irish Lights is a maritime organisation delivering an essential safety service around the coast of Ireland, protecting the marine environment, and supporting the marine industry and coastal communities. In recent years Irish Lights has transformed services are delivered, putting the emphasis on efficiency, cost-effectiveness and sustainability, while exploiting new technology and new opportunities wherever possible. Irish Lights is responsible for providing marine aids to navigation (AtoN) under the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention. Provides and maintains over 300 general aids to navigation; Manages about 4,000 local aids to navigation; and Marks or removes dangerous wrecks outside harbour areas around

Ireland.

Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities (CAAC) www.atlanticcities.eu CAAC is a network of territorial cooperation, based on the particular identity and challenges of the Atlantic Cities. Since 2000, the Conference of the Atlantic Arc Cities has asserted its position as an Atlantic Urban Forum, facilitating both the cooperation among its members and with other actors, creating awareness in the European institutions about issues concerning the Atlantic Cities.

Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) www.cpmr.org CPMR brings together some 160 Regions from 24 States from the European Union and beyond. Representing about 200 million people, CPMR campaigns in favour of a more balanced development of the European territory. It operates both as a think tank and as a lobby for Regions. Through its extensive network of contacts within the EU institutions and governments CPMR has, since its creation in 1973, been targeting its action towards ensuring that the needs and interests of its Member Regions are taken into account in policies with a high territorial impact. It focuses mainly on social, economic and territorial cohesion, maritime policies and blue growth, and accessibility. European governance, energy and climate change, neighbourhood and development also represent important areas of activity for the association.

DCU Water Institute (IE) www.dcu.ie/water DCU Water Institute is a cross-faculty initiative of research and education on water. It aims to work with all stakeholders – a quadruple helix of academia, industry, agency and society in its research and development work. Through research and capacity building, the WI develops solutions to national and global problems in water. Eastern & Midland Regional Assembly (IE) -TBC www.emra.ie Following upon the enactment of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly and the Northern & Western Regional Assembly came into effect. European Regions Network for the Application of Communications Technology (ERNACT) www.ernact.eu ERNACT is a network of European regions and cities that work together to transfer and apply the latest digital technologies to assist the development of their regions. Five of the ERNACT members are located on the Atlantic Ocean, including the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. The others are Region of Cantabria and City of San Sebastian (Spain) and County of Donegal (Ireland) and City of Derry (Northern Ireland). The ERNACT regions have an inherent interest in the Atlantic Action Plan and have developed concrete plans and proposals for the development of Atlantic-wide projects in the innovation and tourism sectors utilising

submarine communications, sensors, seabed mapping, and big data. Over the years ERNACT have successfully delivered over 25 international digital technology projects with governments, universities and research centres in more than 130 European regions and cities, with a combined population of 50 million, across 20 countries.

European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) & EMODnet Atlantic checkpoint www.emodnet.eu & www.emodnet-atlantic.eu EMODnet is a network of organisations supported by DG MARE to provide a gateway to marine data in Europe through seven thematic portals, which are continuously widening their scope and geographic coverage. In addition to this, six EMODnet Checkpoints have been established to assess the status of marine monitoring in European sea-basins. This is done around 11 challenges with concrete, societal interest, such as windfarm siting, oil platform leaks or marine protected areas. The EMODnet Atlantic Checkpoint analyses the availability, quality and accessibility of marine data provided by the current observing systems to address those challenges.

European MSP Platform www.msp-platform.eu The European MSP Platform provides a service for Member States to share relevant knowledge and information on Maritime Spatial Planning. The Platform provides a single interface to draw together information and expertise from across Europe and make it available in a readily accessible, implementation-oriented format. A dedicated team of experts specialised in MSP as well as communication and project design are situated in each of the European sea-basins, acting as personal contacts and liaison offices, keeping track of new developments in MSP. The Platform provides a diverse range of information on MSP in different countries and sea basins, practical information relevant for MSP, an overview on previous and ongoing MSP projects, EU-wide and national funding opportunities, a question and answer service and technical studies to enhance MSP implementation.

Galicia, a Blue Smart Region - Xunta de Galicia (ES) www.gain.xunta.es & www.xunta.es Xunta de Galicia (Spanish Regional Government) is committed to the implementation of the Innovation Strategy linked to Blue Growth within Atlantic Area. The Region’s representation at ASPC2016 has three objectives: To disseminate Galicia Blue Growth capabilities and good practices

implemented in the region in this regard, with special focus on the contribution of these practices and capabilities to the Atlantic Action Plan, and to the enhancement of entrepreneurship and innovation.

To consolidate links with current partners and to contact new partners (multi - stakeholder) to foster the region collaboration on transnational and international initiatives.

To disseminate Galician strengthens on designing and implementing innovative strategies aimed to foster blue economy entrepreneurship and competitiveness in line with the Atlantic Action Plan: research and academic institutions, private sector (organization and Clusters), civil society, Vigo Port Authority, public bodies, and others.

Geological Survey of Ireland (IE) www.gsi.ie A division of Ireland’s Department of Communications Climate Action and Environment, the Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) is Ireland’s national geoscience agency. As such it acquires baseline geological datasets, provides geological information and advice. In order to generate information that uncovers knowledge for our marine territory; the GSI instigated large scale marine mapping on forming the Irish National Seabed Survey (INSS) in 1996. On completion of deep water mapping, INSS was succeeded by the INFOMAR Programme. Jointly managed by the GSI and the Marine Institute, INFOMAR continues to provide pivotal seabed mapping datasets and geological data products that support Ireland’s Integrated Marine Plan. INFOMAR’s free data policy supports Marine Knowledge and furthers the maritime economy by promoting easy access to seabed mapping datasets that underpin; maritime safety, security and surveillance, governance, business development, research and technology innovation and infrastructure. Internationally, the GSI are partners in marine research and data collation projects such as the EC funded EMODnet Bathymetry and EMODnet Geology that strive to collate fragmented data across Europe and make these data openly available as standardised data products.

www.southeastbic.ie The Irish Business Innovation Centres (Irish BICs) represent the five Business Innovation Centres on the island of Ireland: South East BIC, Dublin BIC, WestBIC, CorkBIC and Noribic. The Business Innovation Centres offer tailored consultancy supports to startups, entrepreneurs and SMEs. The BICs focus on working with innovative businesses, working on feasibility, business modelling and planning and investor readiness. They regularly take part in European projects with similar partners and BICs in other European countries. SmartOcean Ireland – Marine Institute (IE) www.smartocean.ie SmartOcean is an initiative led by the Marine Institute aimed at catalysing the development of high-value products and services by creating a critical mass of research and development activities in marine ICT through the development of a SmartOcean Innovation Cluster. It seeks to harness and develop Ireland’s existing and well developed ICT, engineering and scientific know-how, linking it to recently developed marine research capabilities and infrastructure investments, to take advantage of Ireland’s unique geographical location on the European Atlantic Seaboard. The representation at ASPC2016 will be to showcase the innovation centres, enterprise networks and world class research infrastructures which are being developed to establish Ireland as an international centre of excellence for the test, development, validation and commercialisation of innovative marine technologies.

Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) - TBC http://www.seupb.eu SEUPB’s main role is to manage cross-border European Union Structural Funds programmes in Northern Ireland, the Border Region of Ireland and parts of Western Scotland. The two current programmes (2014-2020) are the European Union’s Programme for Peace and Reconciliation (otherwise known as the PEACE IV Programme) and the European Union’s Cross-border Programme for Territorial Co-operation, Northern Ireland, the Border Region of Ireland and Western Scotland (otherwise known as the INTERREG VA Programme). In managing the PEACE IV and INTERREG VA Programmes, SEUPB’s work is divided up into four main areas: Managing Authority, Joint Technical Secretariat, Certifying Authority, and Corporate Services.

Supporting Implementation of Maritime Spatial Planning in the Celtic Seas (SIMCelt) The Supporting Implementation of Maritime Spatial Planning in the Celtic Seas (SIMCelt) project has secured funding from the European Commission to run a Marine Spatial Planning project in the Celtic Seas. The project brings together a number of partners – research organisations, marine planning authorities and marine management bodies – who have extensive experience with regard to marine planning, policy and management. The Celtic Seas Partnership

www.celticseaspartnership.eu The EC LIFE+ funded Celtic Seas Partnership project’s aim is to support the implementation of MSFD and delivery of Good Environmental Status in the Celtic Seas through applying an ecosystem approach. Effective stakeholder engagement is an essential, but commonly overlooked, component of the ecosystem approach. The Celtic Seas Partnership, which is led by WWF-UK, facilitates engagement between sectors and across borders to ensure the long term future of the environment, while safeguarding people’s livelihoods and the communities that have a relationship with the sea. The Celtic Seas Partnership project has engaged with over 950 marine stakeholders, from 6 countries and 14 broad sectors, including policy makers, scientists, fisheries, energy, environmental NGOs, aquaculture and shipping.

The Entrepreneur Ship (IE) www.imerc.ie & www.theentrepreneurship.ie The Entrepreneur Ship is a vibrant place maritime and energy enterprise space where ideas and people can thrive. The Entrepreneur Ship is delivered by the IMERC partnership of the Cork Institute of Technology, the Irish Naval Service and the University College Corke.

University of Cádiz (ES) www.uca.es The University of Cádiz’s representation at ASPC2016 will promote its maritime Entrepreneurship project idea, other projects, as well as the capacities of the University of Cádiz in the marine and maritime field.

Vertigo Lab (FR) www.vertigolab.eu Vertigo Lab a research office and study, a think-and-do tank specialised in economics and environmental management is a young innovative company, which operates from the local level to the European policies in support of private and public actors. Its thematic areas include biodiversity principally, but also water management, agro ecology and urban agriculture, the challenges of climate change and new forms of economy.

Vertigo Lab will showcase external projects showing how open and participative innovation can unlock original, practical and efficient solutions to address the challenges faced by the fisheries sector. Vertigo Lab will also use the stand to look for partners, discuss its ongoing and foreseen projects and provide its expertise to Atlantic stakeholders looking for project partners.
