Get Connected...to great opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship on your Christian journey.

The October food and Women’s Center donations were delivered November 7. Six bags of groceries were delivered to Jesus es el Senor. FUMC also assisted them with van repair. Their vehicle needed service and repair, so it would be road worthy to regularly travel to Indiana to pick up two pallets of food that they distribute to parishioners and others. The Women’s Center in Carbondale received two large bags of soaps, shampoos, and other toiletry items. The receptionist was most appreciative for the donations.

November food items will be designated for Feed My Sheep. Thanks for the donations to these programs. Marion Medical Mission will hold a chili supper fundraiser on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. Location is First Presbyterian Church, 1200 South Carbon, Marion, IL. A freewill offering will be collected. A silent and live auction will also be held. FUMC sent $100 on 9/10/18 to UMCOR. The gift helps with survivors of human trafficking, funding for health and development projects that alleviate hunger and poverty, holistic community-based health programs, and access to clean water and sanitation. Through the advance, 100% of the donation is supporting programs. FUMC was a sponsor for Eagle House Ministries’ Run for Hope 2018. Over 135 registrants partici-pated along with over 30 volunteers, 24 full sponsors and 11 name sponsors. The run raised around $6,500 for its various ministries. Bread for the World (BFTW) is selling Christmas cards with the proceeds to support its work to end hunger. The 2018 card features “The Holy Family,” an illustration created by Doug Puller, senior de-sign and art manager at BFTW. Ten cards and envelopes cost $15 that includes shipping. View the selection of cards at bread.org/cards or order at 800-822-7373.
