The key to continuous value generation is a cyclical review & adaptation of company strategy, business processes and supporting information technology that reflects a changing environment. This
is the ultimate goal of SAPs life cycle approach
SAP took a big step in providing AcceleratedSAP, a consistent repeatable method of implementing
SAP Solutions. Under ValueSAP, the same rigorous focus is applied to both the pre-implementation
or evaluation phase, as well as the post implementation or continuous business improvement
phase as identified in the ASAP methodology.
The life cycle approach to ValueSAP focuses on three distinct phases covering:
Discovery and Evaluation; Implementation; Operations and Continuous Improvement. Each phaseemploys proven , methodologies, tools, as well as content and programs that have been enhanced
to identify the key business processes and measure their value to the organization.
The life cycle, as depicted by the graphic you see here, introduces the key attributes of ValueSAP.
Namely the benefit of taking a long term, strategic view of IT deployment. The concept of
continuous assessment of the value brought to a business by a well planned, implemented and
managed IT infrastructure and the use of specific measurement to indicate performance in key
business processes as a basis for value calculation as well as continuous improvement.

Providing a powerful service and support infrastructureworldwide
ValueSAP2000
mySAP.com Workplace and Marketplace, BusinessInformation Warehouse, Advanced Planner and Optimizer,Strategic Enterprise Management, Customer RelationshipManagement, Business to Business Procurement are keycomponents
From an internal perspective, SAP has also adapted to changing business requirements. We began byproviding high quality products with rich functionality and a solid technology infrastructure all
underpinned with strong services and support.
Together with our Partners, we helped customers deploy SAP systems quickly and efficiently on
time and to budget. The development of methodologies and tools like AcceleratedSAP coupled with
a rich portfolio of service products meant that we could reduce what you might call time to market.
Then we further strengthened our offerings with the Industry Solution Maps to improve the speed
and quality of knowledge transfer and increase our focus on industry solutions. The next logical step
for SAP as an organization was to extend the use of these tried and tested tools and methodologies
and change the emphasis further reduced time to time to benefit.
The ValueSAP framework takes us to this next step. This means offering customers the ability toidentify and define a cohesive IT strategy, build the appropriate SAP infrastructure with specific
performance measurement in mind and then track the economic benefit derived from improved
business processes. This framework sits fairly and squarely over the life cycle concept we discussed
earlier.
