Dear Family of Faith Members, As part of my first Advent sermon several weeks ago, I told those in worship that someone had asked me how many sermons I’d preached during my years as a pastor. I told him that it was around 1500 total. But I then added that it had probably been closer to 300 preached 5 times! We preachers – most of us anyway – have just a few messages we try to convey in varying forms. I’m not even sure I have 5; it’s probably closer to 3. I believe God loves us without exception. I believe we are to love and care for each other within the community of faith. And I believe our love is to drive us into the world, there to live as people of compassion and justice. We enter our 14th year together. At the start of 2015 it is impossible to foresee what the coming months will bring. But I’m sure of this: God will love us; God will give us strength to love one another; and God will beckon us each day to care for those who live in the communities beyond our church family. I look forward to discovering together how we will do that faithfully. Happy New Year! In Christ’s Peace, Bill
