Page 38: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

Make the circle big enough for EVERYONE!

Page 39: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

Accommodations• Change the way you teach or assess

student learning• Change the materials that the student

uses• Make adaptations in the learning environment

Page 40: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

ModificationsInvolve changes to the goals and outcomes of

the curriculum.Modifications are considered for students

with disabilities after appropriate accommodations have been tried.

MEMORYKEEPERDANCE PROJECT

MEMORIESJudith Levine-Artist in Residence

Melissa Lodhi-Dance TeacherBOOKER VPA High School-Sarasota, Fl.

Page 45: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

Students identified the person in their life they wished to honor as the subject of their Memorykeeper. Other dancers read the writings and

underlined the parts to be integrated into the dance.

Page 46: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others
Page 47: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

Written student reflection used as an assessment for the project.

Page 48: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

Making a Memorykeeper sculpture touches the student’s heart. This emotion was integrated into

the student’s original choreography.

Page 49: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

Students constructed Memorykeeper sculptures focusing on someone special in their life.

Page 50: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others
Page 51: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

Dancers constructed a large sculpture out of all the Memorykeepers.

Page 52: Arts Integration: Teaching Artists and Others

The original dance interpreted the student’s writings.
